Long overdue review from our CDMX trip in November 2022 but my two girlfriends and I stopped by on a Monday evening around 5pm? We wanted to grab a drink or two for our last night and it was in our neighborhood.
Downstairs we were greeted by bouncers/doormen who asked if we had a reservation. We did not and they advised they were FULLY booked. He said "I'll see what I can do" and pretended to converse with the other men standing outside. Then he insinuated we tip them 50-100 pesos to let us upstairs. Not a big deal. I gave him 50 pesos and we were excited to finally go upstairs.
Once we exit the elevator, we were greeted by a hostess? She advised us NO TABLES were available and there was only standing room at the bar. After finally entering the EMPTY rooftop, we were shown to the standing area. The WHOLE table area was empty except for one table. There were a maximum of maybe 5 guests at the standing area. I can't believe they gave me all that grief when they were not even the slightest bit busy. I then proceeded to ask staff again if any tables were available. They said NO NO NO and made sure we stayed within the standing area if we even try to walk around. After about 20 minutes of waiting for them to let us know if we can SIT DOWN and enjoy a drink, we are finally seated.
At this point all our moods were already going downhill due to all the hassle. We were seated at the worst corner table, MIND YOU STILL EMPTY with absolutely nobody around us- a waitress came over very angrily and told my friend to make sure we keep to our side. One of my friends was sitting a BIT further away so we can have more space and the staff felt the need to come over and scold.
That was the absolute last straw. We just got up to leave because this place did not deserve us to spend A SINGLE PESO there. Wish I could give this place -10 stars...
Read moreI am really sorry to give such a bad review, but New Year's Eve at Supra Roma Rooftop was a complete disaster. First of all, dinner starting at 8 pm, we've been waiting 20 minutes in the street, they did not let us access to the rooftop up to. 8:20 pm, I don't understand why, neither they said sorry... Bah. Then, we reserved one month ago, 2000 MXN per person (i.e. around 100 USD), paid 100% in advance without possibility to be refund for any issues. We specifically said to be sat in the window, for the view. They've given to us a table in the middle, and to our 4/5 requests to the waiters and to the managers to solve the problem, the only answer was "let me check", none of them came to tell us what was happening (1 hour waiting for another table without an answer). Furthermore, the 100 USD were said for 10 dishes that came to be 10 finger foods, portion really small to be valued 10 USD each. In the first 3 hours, we received only 4/10 dishes, at 11:30 pm they arrived with the dessert still missing other 5 dishes. All the others came all together 10 minutes before midnight when it was impossible to eat since New Year's was arriving. The service was a madness, we stayed hungry (and angry) almost for all the dinner. Finally, they've put gas portable heaters that started to fill the rooftop of a terrible smell. It's really a pity cause the sky view was amazing, and the ambient was really nice, they have managed to ruin the...
Read moreProbably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. So much so that here I am writing this review.
First I took the time to book a reservation, showed up on time, but was immediately stopped at the front by some bouncers requesting identification. Unfortunately I didn’t have my passport on me since I try not to carry it around everywhere, but apparently it is required by ALL members of the party, claiming that its “policy” and stated in the confirmation email. I doubled checked and it is not.
However, they told us to pull out our phones, give them a 5 star review, and then they would let us in. It was extremely bizarre but we did as they asked so we could just make it to our reservation.
They let us in, we went up to the rooftop and the staff were very rude. As they were taking us to our table, they stopped us and made us wait at the bar area, telling us it’d be a minute and they’d come back for us. We waited another 20 mins, we watched other people getting seated that arrived after us and when we asked, the waiters made it seem as if we didn’t have a reservation.
At that point we decided to leave. We felt like the place was extremely pretentious and just overall not a good experience. We left and found another restaurant to eat at off of Alvaro Obregón, but this whole experience left me with a very bad taste.
Would...
