Greedy and incompetent management, don't give them your money.
I liked this place initially, location, room, cleanliness, etc. was all pretty good. Room could have used use an air conditioner or fan at least. That's not why I'm writing this review though.
We had a 3 night stay, but we only got 2 of those nights because on night 3 we returned a little before midnight to find the front door was not working and we couldn't enter the building! We, along with one other guest locked outside, tried for well over 1 hour but couldn't contact anybody from the property. This was now after midnight on Friday so there was nowhere nearby to stay, even if we could find somewhere, all of our belongings were inside. Eventually, after still no response from the property, we were forced to take an uber 40 minutes to a friends place and sleep on some blankets on a concrete floor for the night. Nice. It's lucky we knew somebody in the city.
So, the following day when we returned the guy there, Alex, offered us excuses, an apology and a refund of 600 pesos, despite us having paid almost 1000 pesos per night! Forget about the 200 we paid for the uber and the fact we travelled half way across the city to sleep on a floor because of their incompetence, they wouldn't even refund the full night. We argued it for a while and he said he couldn't refund that much, but in truth, he chose not to. For the sake of 400 or 600 pesos... that money was not the biggest problem for me, but that they think it's fine to keep payment for 2.5 nights when we only could stay 2 nights, shows that they didn't really care about what had happened. Only the money.
I could forgive that the door wasn't working if somebody had been available to let us in that night. I could maybe even forgive that nobody was available to contact and we couldn't stay that night if they would just give us the full refund for 1 night at least, and ideally even the uber cost also. Seems fair, no? Why should we pay more.
Problems happen, that's normal, but it's how you deal with them that counts. Unfortunately the people here are too greedy and selfish to know what is right and to take responsibility for their property and their mistakes.
Stay anywhere else. If you do have to stay here, don't expect much if you have...

Read moreComplete rip off on the exchange rate meant the actual cost was a minimum of 12% more than it should have been. This is a deliberate policy and has been mentioned in reviews on other websites so I guess you need to decide if this is the type of business you want to support. We did query this with the management twice during our stay so we gave plenty of opportunity for rectify the situation but although they admitted the rate did not correspond at all with the actual rate of exchange from USD to MXN, they refused to rectify it. Having visited Roma previously, there are plenty of great accomodation options, so its not difficult to vote with your feet and give this place a miss. Also to note: This is essentially a short term, airbnb style rental property so there is no reception/staff onsite & also no housekeeping during your stay. There is a cupboard in the hall with supplies so you can help yourself. Most windows face into the common area or face an opposite room so you will probably need to keep the blind down for privacy. Again for the price you can do much better. ...
