I am a tourist from the US, and I came here to celebrate Christmas and my partner's birthday after it was recommended by my cousin, who is a local. What we experienced was absolutely horrendous service. I have worked in fine dining myself, and none of what happened here would ever fly in a reputable establishment.
We made a reservation, yet our table was not ready at the reserved time. To pass the time, we went to the bar, but the organization there was chaotic. When I returned to the hostess, she seemed confused and told me I had already been seated—even though we were still at the bar. She said her colleague would come to get us, so I returned to the bar. Ten minutes passed, and my partner (whose birthday it was) went to speak with the hostess and got the same response. Finally, after waiting 40 minutes, we were seated, and this is where things became comical.
We brought our drinks from the bar to our table. No server greeted us for quite a while. Finally, I flagged down a server and informed them that we hadn’t been helped. More time passed, and still nothing. I eventually approached the manager, who took our order. Even after that, we finished our drinks, and still no server came to offer us water or to take drink orders for the evening. It felt as though we didn’t have a server at all.
I had to speak to the manager again just to order drinks. I ordered a bottle of wine to mark the occasion. To my disbelief, a server brought two glasses and left the unopened bottle in the corner of the table. We waited again, and I eventually had to approach the manager yet again to ask for someone to open the bottle.
Our food was delayed because of confusion about where we were seated—this stemming from us moving from the bar. The entire experience was abysmal.
This establishment has no business calling itself fine dining. It was horribly disorganized and poorly managed. Given the price point, we expected much more than five minutes of a saxophone player and mediocre food. The service was atrocious. We will...
Read moreWhen we first arrived, the service was fantastic. Almost as soon as we were seated, we were asked for our drink order and this was fulfilled quickly. Same with the appetizers. But as time went on, the service became worse and worse. Our waiter was clearly not in a good mood. He was not happy. We thought perhaps it was something about us he didn’t like, but then we saw he treated other tables with the same unfriendliness. As time went on, we had a more and more difficult time summoning our waiter. In fact, we ended up ordering drinks from a man who isn’t even a waiter. I think maybe he was only in training, but he was more attentive than our actual waiter and took our order for after dinner drinks and happily brought them.
There is a very elementary problem with the menu. Some items include a side but this isn’t specified on the menu. In fact, all the sides are listed individually with a price, which leads a person to believe the sides are ordered separately. So, when I ordered a steak with a side of potatoes, I received two orders of potatoes (one with the steak and one separately). An experienced waiter could have corrected this error on the menu. Instead, he said nothing. I expect more from a restaurant of this caliber.
The entertainment was fantastic. I loved it. Taste of the food was absolutely amazing. The volume of the speakers should be about 80% of what we experienced. I literally had to lean over and speak very loudly in my spouse’s ear to have a conversation due to the volume of the music. I like the music; but we should be able to have a Valentine’s Day dinner without needing to yell over the music.
I had a good experience here and would return again, but there are some rookie mistakes here which might be excused for a new restaurant, but there’s no excuses for some of these elementary errors in a well-established restaurant. It could have easily been a perfect experience if the management and staff paid more attention to detail and were...
Read moreI would give it two stars but since I read other reviews I understood that this place is not to have a lunch . Actually, we chose this restaurant by hasard as we were tired after walking from one museum to another, the parks, then… we were hungry. So we saw a terrace and decided to give it a try. Do several comments:
at the entrance hostess did not mention that there are 2 (or maybe more even more) restaurants under the roof. Table for 2? Ok, follow me… 2)menu? Scan the code! No internet? Try our wifi! Password? Eeeeereh.. Than after all this very irritating prayers to get a menu - you are there! But guess what?! Not in the menu of the right tee! You are choosing and choosing and no one will tell you what restaurant you should choose on the main page (the one with extensive menu was on the right, Taboo-as I learned later was on the left)
service… it reminded me restaurants in the post-Soviet countries: when they put 100 waiters to serve 10 tables. And the moment you call one of them - it won’t be yours and he will look right into your eyes and turn his back to you. What?! At the same time 5 others will try to take your plate while you are still eating 🤦🏻♀️
presentation: I have never seen bottle of San Pellegrino to be served in the bucket of ice with grapes 🍇 on top of it. What is this? Chef? Director? Marketing? And the food. It wasn’t bad but…. Please… starters meant to be starters and if it happens that portions are bigger than usually… prevent your guest. Say it! Huge portion of seviche that is a starter-I don’t mind but then tell me do I won’t order a main course.
wine. Guys, your 150ml glass is whatever but 150ml. Waiters are pouring the wine like they are afraid to put more and yo be fired do they put less. My whole experience I can describe with few words: I was not welcomed. I’ve been judged from the entrance by all team and I f do not remember when the last time I was more...
