July262025 2nd visit she ordered eggs Benedict/bacon that comes with potatoes and saavocado. Benny was really good my criticism is it was delivered only warm so I think it sat for a bit beofre service, the potatoes we COLD and tasted of 3 days old refrigerator storage whichcwas a huge disappointment as I was starving for some nice crisp breakfast potatoes. He ordered torta ahogada sandwich wasn't just warm not hot, flavors were good. We will try again to see what happens. Note to server: please deliver the food HOT! Note to kitchen staff: please crisp the potatoes on griddle or in a skillet. Stale potatoes 😔
Lovely place! We walked from La Cascada walked East on Genaro Vasquez street. There is zero signage from this direction and after speaking someone from the restaurant we were told they are not allowed signage per the city. Bummer because this place ROCKS! .
We visited on father's day they were not that busy about 10 tables sat. Our order was taken quickly and drinks arrived right away. He ordered cappuccino and I had orange juice. He ordered huevos rancheros and I ordered French toast. We really enjoyed our food. Our server was amazing and I forgot to note his name. Only complaint we ordered eggs over medium and they came sunny side up but the whites were fully cooked. The place is very clean including...
Read moreAfter reading that Chepiche Cafe is among the best vegetarian cafes in Oaxaca, I had high hopes. Went for breakfast to try out their GLUTEN-FREE PANCAKES (125 MXN) and honestly, I was disappointed. I’ve eaten many pancakes and they did not make it to the top 10. First, it starts with the TOPPING that only came with fruit jam (?) I ordered an extra of banana, which I added on top to have some fresh fruit. TASTE: gluten-free pancakes were made with corn flour - flavor was too strong for my gusto. Overall a 3/5.
👩🍳Suggestions for chef: how about adding nuts, powder sugar, maple syrup or fresh mint? Vegan alternative to corn flower could be oat flower.
🥞They also have buttermilk pancake, pancake with fruit and yoghurt as well as a combo with eggs.
💁♀️Great service. The waiters super attentive and I felt like a valued customer.

Read moreChepiche Cafe is my favorite breakfast spot in Oaxaca. I’ve been here 3 times and ordered different things every time. All have exceeded expectations.
I’ve had the huevos rancheros, huevos ahogados and torta ahogada. All of them pack a strong flavor punch per bite and with all the different colors, flavors and textures on the plate, your taste buds don’t get bored. It’s really delicious til the last bite.
Service is great and the ambiance is calm and inviting. There’s plenty of shade and every server I’ve had has been so kind and attentive. Oscar, my server, spoke excellent English and chatted with me about my dog (who also loved all the dishes) and gave him a bowl of water.
What I love is that no matter what I order, it’s great. I get such anxiety selecting the right dish when I travel, but I can say just order what sounds good to you and it will be made well. When the torta ahogada came, I wasn’t really sure I’d like it since it’s a sandwich spot in half and sopping up some sauce, but I gobbled that up in 5 min and literally wiped my plate clean. Doggie approved.
Come and relax with a...
