I hate that I’m writing this review because I’m such a patient person and I hate being a ‘karen’ with food and restaurants, but this was probably the worst service I’ve experienced in my whole life.
Maybe the waitress was new, but she first gave me two chilaquiles when I only asked for one. I told her I only ordered one dish (why would I order two…?), and she just proceeded to stand there not knowing what to do, expecting me to take the second dish?? No!!
She then forgot my smoothie and never gave me and my friend utensils!!! She just gave us our dish with no beverage or utensils. It was after 20 minutes of waiting with just our food (unable to eat!!!) when she gave us our utensils. My smoothie also never came out until I asked the manager for my smoothie AN HOUR LATER, and that my waitress forgot to bring it. Imagine eating your food with no beverage??? I thought drinks come before food?????
I then asked for salsa for my food 8 TIMES (!!!!) and she never gave it to me. I told her I wanted salsa and she said okay she’ll bring it out. No… She kept forgetting. Again, I asked EIGHT TIMES and I never ended up getting the salsa. I even asked the MANAGER for salsa and he forgot as well. THE MANAGER… I just ate the dish without salsa because I was so upset.
The worst part of this experience was that I asked the manager for all these things since the waitress was doing such a horrible job, and they didn’t do anything. They didn’t give me the salsa, they didn’t do anything to accommodate my frustration with this horrible service. They just twiddled their thumbs and acted like everything was fine when I was just sitting there waiting for my beverage, my utensils, and salsa for 30-60 minutes.
I just wanted to have a 30 minute meal with my friend and I ended up being at the restaurant for 2 hours (YES, TWO HOURS) because of the horrible and SLOW service.
I never write negative food reviews. I’m very patient and I understand the hussle and hardwork it takes to work in the food industry, especially since I worked as a waiter before, but this was another level… I’m extremely extremely disappointed with the service and I hope no one has to experience this EVER at a restaurant.
As a tourist, and I really mean it when I said this, please never eat at...
Read moreWe have been to La Punta few times and were very happy to see the beach club vibe of this place. We were in the evening there and so asked the front desk about the pricing of the twin beach beds. One girl told us it is 1000 Pesos minimum bill. Another gentleman told us that there was no minimum and it is pay what you consume. This morning we went with another couple there and it was completely empty at noon. The waiter spoke English and now we are told that it is 1500 pesos minimum bill for twin beach bed. So it would be 3000 pesos for four of us. We felt a bit conned a bit as there are no rates published. We still went ahead. Then the waiter told us that this does not include service and we have to tip him separately on top of it. Since we are in chilled mode we said yes to it as well. Unfortunately the service was very bad. The waiter would show up very rarely at our beach beds. We see him busy doing other chores or chatting with other waiters. He is not rude but not friendly either. Breakfast is available till 1 PM which included any juices. We failed to understand that. Food is pricey as to be expected for a place like this but it is good. I ordered an omlette but asked him to remove ham and give avacodo instead. He said it is possible but when the bill came it was 70 pesos additional for few pieces of avocado! All of it leaves a bad taste when you are on vacation. I would avoid it as the service does not match the price they are charging. YMMV!! Happy...
Read moreI recently dined at Selma and had the pleasure of being served by Marco. The experience was exceptional from start to finish. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, while my girlfriend opted for the Enchiladas. The food was simply outstanding - beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor.
What truly stood out was the overall ambiance of Selma. The music, vibe, and atmosphere were all spot on, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Marco's attentive service added to the positive experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home.
In addition to the great food and service, Selma's drink selection was impressive, offering a variety of options to complement our meal.
Overall, our visit to Selma, with Marco as our waiter, was nothing short of fantastic. It's a place where good food, good music, and good vibes come together seamlessly. We'll definitely be returning for more memorable dining experiences in the future. Highly...
