Chez Waffle — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

I’ve been here twice. The first time I got a waffle and eggs Benedict. Neither were my preference and the price was high, but they were well-made. Now that I live here I thought maybe I could just get something basic for a good price so I went in today to try their basic breakfast and it was still a bit costly but I at least expected a good amount of food. The food came out and it was two eggs, one piece of white toast and one piece of sausage and bacon that both look like they were made earlier in the morning. By the speed that the mail came out, I could tell that they just did two eggs and put down a piece of toast. There was no way I was paying. $250pesos, $13.81US, $18.70CAN for this. The place is never overly busy, and I understand why. If you want a really good overpriced waffle, then the place is great. I was just happy that they let me leave. It’s really hard to support local businesses when they are overcharging and giving small portions. I can literally eat two for meals...

We were there around 9 am for breakfast and were in a practically empty business but still had to wait 20 minutes before one of our orders was served. They were working there with around seven people, so a staff shortage is no explanation. The staff was still prepping for the day and were eating their own breakfast behind the bar instead of serving. Our server did not speak a single word of English and came to our table multiple times while we were still making our choices. The food and drink of my partner came before any drink or food of mine. I had to wait around 10 minutes before my food and drink were served after my partner’s.

As soon as we walked we were greeted by a nice lady explaining their specials . After we reviewed menu real quick at the door we decided to stay , it was a pleasant vibe beautiful cute with vibrants pink and blue color we just had to stay and try this place . After we sat down we were right away attended by another nice waitress . We ordered avocado toast and chilaquiles rojo and a side of has brown and it was very delicious and well served portions with great prices . By far in all playa del Carmen this has been the best restaurant to eat with great service, atmosphere, good prices and delicious food . Thank you chez waffle !!!!! Highly recommended- please...
