Diving with Paolo was awesome! I booked about a month in advance, but he shared that he gets texts from people day before or day of dives as well. When I initially booked I wanted to do two cenotes, but Paolo assured me that doing two dives at Dos Ojos would give us enough to explore—he was right.

We did two dives at Cenote Dos Ojos. We met at the Cenote at 7:45am which gave us some time to talk and get to know each other a little bit before the park opened at 8am. On the 8 dives I’ve been on, I’ve always found the instructors very welcoming and easy to talk with. Paolo upheld that standard!

Before our first dive, Paolo took the time to go over the map of our route for both dives. This was my first dive where I needed to use a flashlight, and Paolo did a great job of explaining the difference in signals when there’s low natural light vs. a typical dive with a lot of natural light.

The dives themselves were unique. Not much wildlife, but it was incredible to see the way the limestone has broken down to form natural caves underwater. I was a bit nervous doing this cenote as a relatively inexperienced diver, but Paolo reassured me that it was totally doable—he was right again. On the second dive, there was an area we popped up at in the middle of a cave to see HUNDREDS of little bats hanging around. I don’t know if I’ll ever see bats while diving again unless I come back.

Overall, I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go and dive with Paolo! He is very experienced, yet he was still able to cater to my level of experience. I left feeling more comfortable and confident as a diver while also feeling safe throughout the dive.

Go dive with Paolo!...

Paolo is a stud. I run a guide outfit and customer service is king. Paolo is awesome. His gear is fantastic, my wife did all the booking. Neither of us had dived in fresh water let alone Cenotes. He was great to work with over email. I brought all of our own dive gear because I like to have my gear. But I don’t think it would have been necessary, he runs almost all Cressi.

We did two dives in Dos Ojos the first day, then the second we did The pit and dream gate. We’ve both dove the blue hole in Belize and the pit blows it out of the water. It truly is one of the best dives in the world. Being the first at every dive both days was key. He get keys to locked gates to make sure he is first so your not fighting everyone else or waiting. It makes for a early day, but well worth it. He does great snacks and water between dives. I don’t usually run a wetsuit with the water temps we had, and I didn’t the first dive. But I would recommend renting one, not due to the cold but the bugs are relentless in the jungle. No need to take that thing off in between...

We had two dives at Dos Ojos with Paolo. He seemed nice and passionate about diving.

However the equipment we got was very old and bad. My BCD main buckle was broken. Checking my regulator before the dive, I realised it was leaking a little bit at the mouthpiece. He than got me another regulator.

For the second dive the valve at my tank was leaking for some reason, so we had to change the regulator again to the old one. However we than had to change the same leaking mouthpiece again but the one I used from the first dive was not fitting onto the first regulator, so he got me a third mouthpiece, which was very old and again leaking !!!

So we had to change the hose attached to the first stage, to finally mount the working mouthpiece on.

Regarding the condition of the equipment that is used, I...

Diving alongside Paolo in side mount configuration was not only a thrilling experience but also an educational one. His extensive 15 years of expertise shone through as he shared great tips, enhancing the overall dive. The personalized guidance and attention to detail made it clear that this dive center is dedicated to providing a top-notch and enriching underwater adventure. In addition to Paolo's expertise, I must highlight the incredible support from Stephanie and the rest of the dive center team. Their crazily helpful attitude added a wonderful dimension to the overall experience. Moreover, discovering that they offer tours around Tulum further solidified my recommendation. For a seamless blend of expertise, friendliness, and additional adventures, this dive center comes highly recommended.

Highly recommended. We had a great time. If you are looking to do some exciting but very safe diving in the Cenotes this is the dive centre to use. Paolo is very experienced and specialised in this form of diving. We were fairly experienced divers but had never been in a cave, cavern or cenote. The briefings were detailed but not overwhelming. We started with Dos Ojos where caves connect two close Cenotes where you can always see some light at one end. It’s still pretty dark! Then the magical otherworldly Angelita Cenote where you dive down below a hydrogen sulphide cloud at 25m into pitch black but crystal clear water before re-emerging into a ghostlike dead underwater forest. It’s like diving in the underworld. Unforgettable. And thanks to a great instructor: Relaxed and pure Zen.
