El Chiringuito Restaurante Bar Zomay — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Drinks only, we did not have food. Beer is not cold, Margaritas consistently bad. Count your change when handed back to you. Zomay bar is a popular spot to watch the sunset. We took a year off from Zomay for sunset due to the servers consistently short changing you when returning your change after paying your tab. We're back in Holbox again and decided to give Zomay a try for sunset. Ordered 2 Dos Equis barely chilled definitely not cold strike 1, ordered 2 Margaritas, same recipe, they suck strike 2, paid our tab and short changed 130 pesos strike 3, we're done we will never return. Talked with bar manager, seemed like nice guy offered to return the money, we told him about these same issues over a year ago here and our 1st time back in a year the same exact thing is still happening. Let the customer decide the tip don't help yourself to what you think you should get. If you provide good service and your honest good tips will...

Almost five star all round, but with a problem…

The sushi is some of the best we’ve ever had, seriously incredible Burgers good, pizza not great to be honest Service is great!

But!

Guys I’d really recommend changing the way you demand tips…

Giving me my grand total for food and drink and then not actually deciding a percentage like 10,15,20… just slapping a new total up whatever you like… its not the way to do things

Total today came to 1265 and below it just says 1500, underlined

Lol… no.

The service speaks for itself and definitely deserves a tip, but i suggest you leave that down to the customer, instead of writing a random number that for me happened to be nearly 19%…

In my opinion the place is slightly overpriced already (thought so is most of Holbox) so this is a bit of a joke

Frustrating as apart from this, we love the place and want to return

Special mention to Coco who is...

Maybe it was an off day but my boyfriend and I came here one time on our trip looking to reserve a bed for the day (we showed up early). The person working there made us feel so unwelcome (the only time we experienced this in Holbox), we left and walked back to another beach club we had been at on a different day. It was disappointing because the water here looked clearer and had less seaweed but the person working there was so unfriendly we couldn’t stay. Also, most of the lounge chairs and beds they had there looked kind of old and worn out compared to the other place. Looks like a fun place especially later in the day but don’t know if I’d ever try again...
