I really don't understand the reviews for this place. I was a little leary going in because the photos looked a little off but the reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. Let's just say that the photos are accurate. The fish tacos, for example, are grayish in color with little black specks in the breading. That's because they're cooked in oil that hasn't been cleaned. Those little black specks are burned food from previous meals. The place smells like burned oil, before you even walk in. We ordered ribeye tacos, and asked for them to be cooked medium, hoping for some really good flavorful tacos. Rather than grilling the ribeyes and then slicing it and putting the meat into the tacos, they chopped the meat into little bits and dumped it on top of the griddle, where it essentially steam cooked itself. No lovely char on the outside from the grill, no nice pink tender meat on the inside. Just a little bits of gray, unappealing, steamed meat. Very disappointing. Fish tacos not only had a very fishy flavor that was off-putting, they were indeed gray with little black flecks of burned bits and they weren't even crispy. I didn't eat mine. We also ordered some sort of sausage taco, hoping it would be chorizo and it wasn't. It looked like a little bits of chopped up Vienna sausages. Believe it or not, those little bits of sausage were the tastiest things we got. Shrimp tacos were cooked in the same old oil. Not even the salsas and condiments that were provided had much flavor. It was just very, very disappointing. The only bad meal that we had in 5...
Read moreThis place left me speechless. Not only did we try nearly every taco on the menu, sampling all their homemade sauces (recommend trying the homemade chilli sauce with roasted peanuts), but the owners were also very welcoming. The deep-fried shrimp and fish tacos were incredible, definitely a must-try. Overall, it's absolutely great value for money and worth a visit.
I really hope and encourage them to keep up this authentic Mexican cuisine and not let themselves get negatively influenced by the ongoing...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food, kind service, amazing drinks. We had the ceviche (incredible), as well as ribeye and shrimp tempura tacos. The tacos arrive with a tower of salsas and veggies which is such a nice touch. We also had a mango margarita and sangria with vodka. So so good. The only thing that could make this place better would be if they could create the jungly ambiance of some of the local spots down here, but otherwise everything...
