Charming, fresh and delicious Italian food that transported me to Italy. I stopped in this restaurant because I was trying to pay my bill, unsuccessfully, at CFE and had a bit of time before I had to work so I saw a sign in the window for a breakfast special so I decided to treat myself to a sit-down meal. It’s a small charming place that had a place in the window so I felt safe sitting down. It turns out it was already noon so the breakfast special had ended and I realized it was an Italian restaurant. I wasn’t thinking of having Italian food but they had a special of chicken parmigiana, which I love, so I decided to stay. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting much because I hadn’t been very successful with Italian food here. So I was pleased when a small, simple salad came with a wonderful vinaigrette. When the chicken parmigiana came, I was blown away. It was so much better than I expected. I’ll add a photo if I can figure out how to do it. It came on a bed of pasta with some of the freshest, tastiest tomato sauce I have ever tasted. I told them it was like being in Italy. The garlic bread they brought on the side was fresh and crispy. Oh, and I forgot to mention the big, fresh, tasty naranjada that accompanied me through the whole meal. The owner/chef was very welcoming, as was the woman who attended me. Fabulous penne pasta with chicken and mushrooms in yummy pesto cream sauce. And the garlic bread 😳 very rich! Merlot by the glass was very good as well. Prices are so reasonable! Took home leftovers. I am so disappointed. We went here tonight for the first time with great expectations based on reviews. Now don't get me wrong, my entree was all right but it wasn't what I ordered. The menu very clearly stated chicken and portobello mushroom with Italian rice. There was plenty of chicken virtually no portobello and the mushroom that was there were white button mushrooms and if they cut up two mushrooms I would be shocked.
