Last night I had the pleasure of attending a special event and opportunity to sample the new pizzas being offered at Jacque from their wood fired pizza oven. They are offering these pizzas on their menu starting today!! … I have a few places that I love to go for pizza, and I fancy myself a bit of a connoisseur being 1/2 Italian and working throughout Italy for most of my 20’s. So far, Jacques’ pizza crust is the BEST. Thin…but not TOO thin…and crisp edges. Definitely not too doughy where all you can taste is the crust. That’s a balance that is difficult to achieve. We started by tasting two different salads. One was arugula and radicchio with a yogurt and herb dressing. Delish. The other was tomatoes and cucumber with spices and oil/vinegar. All the ingredients were super fresh. Straight from the garden. Then came the pizzas. We tried the classic margarita which was perfection, in my opinion. And the other was a white pizza with thin slices of pear, mustard seed, honey and cheese. (The chef had us try 1/2 and 1/2 with one side blue cheese and the other side a creamy Camembert). Both were delicious. I described the white pizza as a cozy, autumn hug!! I highly recommend trying the pizzas Tuesday through Saturday during their extended evening hours!! It sounds like they are going to offer several delicious topping...
Read moreThis charming restaurant is tucked away on my favorite flower-filled street in San Miguel de Allende.
I went for a solo lunch and was seated immediately on the covered rooftop deck. It's not a huge space, but has lots of ambiance with the plants and large mural.
I ordered the Hope Garden Smoothie and the Farmers Market Salad with Chicken.
The smoothie was light and refreshing with the perfect blend of greens sprinkled with chia seeds.
The salad was very fresh and tasty. The chicken was moist and seasoned well, but a wee bit heavy on the salt.
The service was very good.
The only thing I'd suggest is that they take better care of the restroom. Not the cleanest place, which seemed out of line with this restaurant.
I'd highly recommend this place and will return to try other entrees, which all looked good at the other...
Read morea very nice find, outside (but close enough to) the tourist madness that’s the new san miguel. plenty of clearly marked vegan dishes, and it was a tough decision selecting just one.
a young and seemingly inexperienced waitstaff will learn how to wait a table soon enough (brought food but no utensils. i went to ask for them myself. tried to take away my bowl while i was still chewing (literally) and 1/4 my dish visibly left to eat.
the “bring your dogs” policy resulted in 4 dogs (!!) at tables directly next to me and downstairs, barking at each other. the dog owners didn’t care. revisiting this policy would make me re-visit, because the bowl was quite innovative and delicious.
dogs while i’m eating? since when has this become the norm? 3 stars would be 4 except your your...
