We went for dinner with a large group, and while the food was good, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. Maybe it was the size of our party, but the experience didn’t feel as special as I had hoped. The requirement for a deposit for reservations made me excited, but I think that’s more due to the small space than anything else.
The French-inspired touches in the food were enjoyable, and the flavors were nice, but the cocktails were a letdown. They weren’t crafted well, and we ended up mixing them with some type of soda at the table. I’d suggest sticking to wine here—it seems like a better choice overall.
When we visited, it was cold and windy, especially sitting on the top floor, so the food cooled down quickly—though that’s not the restaurant's fault. The service could be better, especially for larger parties. The space felt cramped, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. While the food was decent, I’m not sure this would be my go-to spot for a...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate Bastille Day (July 14th), and had a wonderful time. We were welcomed by a friendly and engaging host, who walked us to our table.
The food itself is delicious! The Camembert as a starter was nothing short of amazing. I strayed away from ordering the typical Coq au vin as my main, and tried the lengua dish. I was apprehensive at first (it may not be for everyone), but I was pleasantly surprised! Steak frites were delicious as well, remember ordering medium rare is like ordering it blue. Ask to confirm.
Cocktails were tasty and the two local SMA wines we had reminded me a bit of Sonoma wines we have back home. They were great and now looking to visit those SMA wineries while here.
Although we sat on the top Terrazza, we noticed there was a small seating section below where you can view the food preparation. Next time we’ll try to sit at that space, looked really intimate yet in front of the...
Read moreWe enjoyed a wonderful meal here on our first night back in San Miguel. On arrival we were taken up to the rooftop terrace with views up to the city and down into the kitchen. Cocktails were quick to arrive and perfectly made. The menu is quite short which is usually a good sign of fresh ingredients and professional preparation. That was definitely the case here! The fig salad tasted as if the greens had come straight from the farm. Our mains were nothing exotic but all were perfect. The Coq au Vin, steak frites, and the catch of the day (sea bass). The steak was the best I've had since being in Argentina. Service was impeccable and friendly. There's not much of a wine list and is sold by the glass. Some nice choices though. Prices are definitely on the expensive side but given the level of service, the quality of the food and the lovely ambiance we all felt it was a...
