Best chilaquiles we have ever had! Being from the Houston Texas area, we can get a good plate of chilaquiles just about anywhere. But nothing tops what we had here at La Chi Breakfast. We were able to sample all of their sauces before deciding what to order, which was also difficult because they make them so many different ways. My fiancé had the “Mom’s Special”, which is a blend of two of the sauces and eggs on top. She said she’s probably not even going to try something different next time because it was so amazing. I decided to go with the traditional style cooked in one of their spicier sauces, Guaca. I don’t do eggs so they topped mine with chicken. I was worried if choosing a spicy sauce would make it hard to eat but it was definitely not. It was so flavorful, and so much food that I ate way too much because I couldn’t stop eating it! They even brought a small bowl of a hot sauce that would burn your face off if you ate a spoonful, BUT I put a little of it all over my plate with no regrets. (My food didn’t need the extra flavor at all, I just occasionally like to add some extra spice to my food.) If you can’t handle spice, don’t do it, but if you can, the flavor is wonderful. We will be back to Cozumel in a couple of months for a much longer stay, so we’ll definitely be making this a breakfast stop 2-3 times...
Read moreGreat prices and portions, fantastic flavor and service. We were looking for great chilaquiles after having a horrible experience at a place at the Mercado municipal. We went on the morning of Thursday, October 31st. We had the chilaquiles with chipotle sauce and eggs as well as the chicken enchiladas. The portions were huge and the prices were great! They use beans in the sauces they make. It is a Veracruz style restaurant (another coastal city). When you order, they bring you the cutest little glass container with a yogurt parfait. So tasty! The lattes were also delicious. The reviews/ratings for this place were spot on. They bring out a small sampler of all the sauces they offer in these adorable mini clay pots(picture attached). Our server was very friendly and took the time to explain what each sauce was and the spice level for each. I asked for the chipotle sauce in my chilaquiles. They use beans in the sauce which makes it a little more robust and flavorful. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for lunch or breakfast, you cannot go wrong with this place. They have a sign that says they make their food and with love and it comes across in the flavors and service. I would give this place a...
Read moreWent to Cozumel for the day from a cruise trip and we were looking for authentic Mexican breakfast. We googled and found this place and saw the rating and photos. We got a taxi and asked her to take us there. She was driving all around tell us that there’s other food places around and also told us that this restaurant was closed. So we decided to call the restaurant and they were open. That taxi driver has commission with the nasty popular tourist restaurants that are around (so please look out for this). She finally dropped us off down the blocked and decided to walk there. This place was everything we were looking for. Authentic food and welcoming people. They have different salsas depending on your liking. They gave us samples for us to try so we can decide what we wanted. Overall the best experience. They also went above and beyond to find us a snorkeling tour for the day which was also a great experience. Overall this place is a 1000/10. I HIGHLY...
