AVOID - the waiter serving us was incredibly rude! He got our order wrong - on the drinks and then on the food. When we asked to send our food back (as it was wrong) he got really angry and insisted that we had ordered something different. He raised his voice, denied putting the wrong order through on the system and then proceeded to march back to us with the bill and forced us to pay. This is after he had taken back the wrong food and not replace it! We left feeling furious and hungry. Absolutely avoid.
Note - we had been here the night before and got served by a lovely waiter. However the food just doesn’t live up to standards. The meat tacos came out with a tiny serving and nothing else - no sauce, salad, salsa, nothing! Just a small amount of dry meat on a taco. I visited Eufemia in its old location 6 years ago and it was brilliant. Unfortunately I think it’s been ruined by the overpriced situation in the whole of Tulum and doesn’t live up to...
Read moreIt was certainly an interesting experience. The food was mediocre, and the drinks were fine. We ordered a bucket of medium beers, but they brought us small ones instead—without the quantity adding up to what we originally ordered. Their explanation was that they were out of medium beers, yet shortly after, we saw them serving medium beers to other customers.
Given this experience, we decided not to leave a tip. To our surprise, the waiter took the liberty of adding a 15% tip on their own, seemingly out of entitlement. When I called the manager, they refunded the amount but also explicitly told us we were no longer welcome at the beach bar.
So, if you’re looking for a place where the staff is only polite because of tips—and where you risk being expelled for not agreeing with their practices—this is the...
Read moreExcellent access to the beach, way more reasonable prices than the price gouging hotels that cover the rest of the area. Family friendly environment with chic food area and quaint beachfront ammenities. Carved and painted chairs and huge chalkboard make for a stylish look and plenty of seating. If you want food or drink, services don't start until 11:30-12, but you can park as early as 9am and still enjoy the beach before they open.
My only complaint is that parking prices across the street have tripled since the last time anyone mentioned them and they aren't posted at the lot so you just have to hope you aren't being fleeced (many guests mentioned 100 pesos for valet parking, but we were charged 300). That said, it beats a $1000 cab ride to and from...
