My husband and I had a spontaneous stay at Casa Aluxes Hotel after deciding to extend our visit in Valladolid at the last minute. Although we didn't have advance reservations, the staff was extremely accommodating & welcoming. The location is excellent, just a couple minutes walking to the Calzada de los Frailes. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and the shower had fast & consistent hot water. The entire property has a ton of character, there are personal little touches throughout and great spaces for relaxing, eating or just having a drink from the bar. The included breakfast was excellent. I asked for tea and our waitress/hostess Nere gave me her own personal tea as the hotel didn't have any on hand. She even packaged a few extra of her tea bags for me to take with me as a gift in case our next hotel/restaurant didn't have any tea. To my amazement, the envelope containing the tea bags was hand drawn and painted by Nere herself! Our spontaneous stop turned out to be one of our favorite hotel stays...
