This restaurant is amazing and exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was truly perfect, which is next to impossible to find in a restaurant experience, especially when one is looking for the right atmosphere, service, cost, value, delicious food, and healthy vegan food. This place got it right in every way, and we say this as long-time whole food vegans and world travelers who have a lot of experience in this area.
The location is super convenient and in a great part of Valladolid. The restaurant itself is very pretty both inside and out, clean, and has a wonderful ambiance throughout its open-air sitting area. The menu offers an outstanding selection of drink and food items that touch on numerous cuisine types, including Mexican, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Italian. The best part is that almost everything is vegan and clearly labeled, with only a few items being vegetarian. The prices are excellent and provide very good value given the portions and quality of the food, space, and service. The staff is nice, friendly, courteous, and hospitable.
We enjoyed the green juice, which was just perfect. It was a real veg and fruit juice without fillers or sweeteners or ice cubes to water it down and lower the quality. We each enjoyed the two different burgers that are on the menu with potatoes. Both were equally delicious, with the seed burger being more filling, and came with super yummy sauces. The accompanying potatoes were done perfectly for a healthy and tasty experience; they were not fried, not browned or charred, and not oily. The food was fresh and came, nicely presented, and came with perfect timing. To top off our meal, we had the key lime avocado pie, which was like a mix between a cheesecake and an ice cream cake, and was outstanding. We will certainly be going back during our stay in Valladolid to enjoy Le'Kaat again and highly recommend it to vegans and...
Read moreLe Kaat is a cute vegan and vegetarian restaurant located along the picturesque and colourful Calzada de Los Frailes.
The menu had a wide variety of dishes to choose from and the vegan options were clearly labeled. They had healthy versions of traditional Mexican meals, pasta, pizza, salad bowls, smoothies/juices, desserts, breakfasts, cafe drinks and more. I ate here twice during my stay in Valladolid and ordered the Rainbow and Detox Buddha Bowls and the Ixchel and Poderoso smoothies. The bowls were some of the best salads I’ve had in Mexico, and they were fresh and tasty! The dressings were unique, flavourful and delicious as well. I loved both smoothies and they were sweet and healthy.
There was a pretty garden courtyard area for sitting and then more tables in the open air restaurant. It was a lovely and peaceful atmosphere! The service was attentive and friendly.
They only accept cash at the moment in the restaurant. There was one bathroom at the back which was very clean and nice. Attached to the restaurant, is a ceramic store where they have beautiful and unique, locally made ceramics (created in the workshop right next door using local and natural pigments from plants for the colours)! It was worth a visit and I ended up purchasing a gorgeous mug. Felt good to support a local place like this!
This is a newer restaurant and I am so happy to see more plant based eateries opening in Valladolid since my last visit 5 years ago. Muchas gracias! Can’t wait to return next time...
Read moreThe place is absolutely stunning! They only had a table inside when I came in but quickly moved me to their beautiful garden as soon as one table was freed.
The person that first greeted me was quite cold and stayed that way the whole way through but did her job quickly and professionally. By chance, there was another waiter that took my order and helped me move table (looked like a manager) and he was very welcoming and helpful.
I had the hibiscus and ginger infusion with the "rainbowl". The presentation of the bowl was nice, the veggies we're all fresh and appetizing but the dressing was a bit bland. The drink was exactly what I was expecting, nothing to right home about. With that said, they have a wide ranging menu so I would definitely go back and try something else.
One thing that slightly bothered me is that they had an 80's American hits playlist on the speakers. It felt a little out of place. I wished they had Mexican/Latin music instead. It would've made for a better experience in my opinion.
Overall, a very nice place for a healthier option when you've had your share of tacos, tortas...
