Waow! Simply amazing . This the best food I had in Mexico , third time I travel for a total of 2 months stay over 12 towns . First it starts with a unique welcome and care by the owner Julia . I have been travelling all over the world , countless times for the last 40 + years and it is the first time the host asks me if I have any allergies or food restrictions ! Julia made sure there was no issues with the ingredients of all her dishes , truly a unique care ! Indeed , we realized a few dishes could not make it for me, I never thought it could be the case . After that, we had an amazing experience tasting amazing Oaxaca dishes , a true fine cuisine, with the perfect touch . Truly , Julia and her cooks can very well compete against Bobby Flay in the Food Network (TV). We went there for a late lunch. We loved it so much that we decided to come back the next day for new year eve dinner. Last but not least , the prices are very decent , an amazing quality /price ratio way above all we had in our stay in Yucatan over 5 towns /villages. If you are looking for a great food experience , charming , intimate environment and great care, this is it ! Trust me now, believe me later , it is truly...
Read moreThis restaurant is tucked into a storefront a couple blocks away from the square, and is well worth the short walk to find it. The presentation, quality and flavors of the food were outstanding, as good or better than what we have experienced in Oaxaca city itself, and that is saying something. We shared a series of small plates, including outstanding guarnachas, truly excellent dark mole tetelas, and delicious rib tacos. It's not on the menu, but they also have bottled beer. The service was exceptional, and if you don't speak Spanish, the host speaks fluent English. We are on a two week road trip, and as much as we love Mayan food, finding this unexpected gem in Valladolid was a great way to take a break and experience a taste of Oaxaca. (We were too full to order a tlayuda, but the table next to us did, and it looked wonderful.). Just a tremendously elevated experience-...

The food? Absolutely phenomenal. It was, without a doubt, one of the best meals we had during our travels across the region.
