Unfortunately, I'm giving 1 star because this restaurant is an insult to the portuguese food
I can count with my hand the many portuguese plates they have on the menu. The most known one is the Francesinha, where the sauce is the most important part, but they failed terribly at it. We also ordered chicken, thinking it would be similar to portuguese food, even tho it was good, it had nothing that tasted like portuguese cooking
The employees there apparently don't know what is smilling, especially the lady that had an unfriendly look and posture
For a portuguese restaurant, you'd expect someone to talk portuguese? No not really, no wonder the food doesn't taste like portuguese food either
The idea of going there was to show my friend the taste of portuguese food and try out the pastel de nata, but I was entirely disappointed with what we ate. The pastel de nata was worse than the cheap ones you can buy at the supermarket in Portugal
The only good thing I can talk about my experience in this restaurant was the priceless reaction of my friend about trying a pastel de nata, even tho it wasn't that good
Lastly, for a restaurant in a hotel with overpriced prices, I'd expected a better quality, but that's something that this restaurant lacks
I don't recommend this restaurant for portuguese people or for trying portuguese food. You're better off eating pizza in...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this restaurant regularly because I genuinely enjoy the food and atmosphere. But my recent experience left me disappointed enough to walk out before even receiving my order was fully placed.
I came in during the middle of the day when the restaurant was completely empty. I ordered a margarita and picanha at the bar, then politely asked the bartender if I could sit at a more comfortable booth in the back due to some back strain. He agreed without hesitation.
A few minutes later, another employee came over and abruptly told me I had to move because the booth seats six people. I pointed out that the restaurant was completely empty and I had been told I could sit there. I also added that I’d be happy to move if a large party came in.
Instead of defusing the situation or treating me like a valued guest, the manager intervened and doubled down, essentially telling me I shouldn’t have sat there in the first place. No understanding, no flexibility, no courtesy.
At that point, I felt insulted enough to cancel my order and leave.
It’s unfortunate, because I’ve supported this place many times and always looked forward to returning. But hospitality is about more than just food—it’s about how you treat people. Today, I didn’t...
Read moreI was really hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst. The only highlights were the valet—who was polite, smiling, and respectful—and the decor, which was nicely done. That’s the only reason I’m giving two stars.
From the moment we arrived, the service was disappointing. The waitstaff didn’t smile or offer a warm welcome. We were served complimentary chips, but they were overly oily and unappetizing.
We ordered two tapas dishes, which were just okay—nothing memorable. Then came the main course: a fried fish dish that was noticeably greasy. Since I can’t eat oily food, I asked for an alternative. The server’s attitude was less than pleasant, but they eventually brought out grilled octopus instead, which was just average.
To top it all off, we later discovered that the fried fish we didn’t eat was still included in the final bill. That was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
This was our first visit—and...
