Found a great little restaurant in the old town on Tangier, Ba Sidi is a lovely place, great decoration very elegantly designed with a real relaxed atmosphere, nice music and a light bright feeling whilst still having the old town rushing by outside.
The restaurant is situated in a small square with a park right opposite where lots of the locals hang out and relax in the sunshine. The view through the window is really nice watching the passers by shopping and going about their daily chores so close to the old town.
The restaurant is Spanish owned after just speaking with owners daughter, who runs and works with her father, who was eating in the restaurant at the same time. It seems that most of the clients were speaking Spanish.
I tried the Harira soup, very very tasty and large bowl of soup very very nice. As you can imagine it was served with some really tasty bread.
Next off the menu was a delicious Pastel de Pollo, this is a typical Moroccan dish. It’s chicken cooked with spices and almonds wrapped in a crispy filo pastry, covered almonds and some sugar and cinnamon also a little bit sweet honey. It’s a very great dish like amazing spices that you can taste but also very sweet which with chicken is a bit bit strange but I must admit you will fall in love with it.
The last dish are some skewers of mince meat with Moroccan spices and severed with vegetables. These are super tasty and literally melt in your mouth.
The staff are very friendly and polite plus welcoming and have a...

Read moreWe dined here last night. Weather was cold and rainy. We got early early. The staff was kind enough to let us sit down 15min before they open for service (during the rest time they had for fast breaking). Top notch care for customers.
I had a royal cous cous that was made up of stew beef, veg, cous cous, almond and chick pea. After travelling in Morocco for ten days. I’d say that’s the easily the best cous cous desk I’ve had. The beef was well seasoned and cooked to tender. Even the base Cous cous I suspect they must have cooked with a special broth cos it tasted very flavorful.
Wife had prawn pil pil and she gave it a double thumb up.
It’s a hearty small shop that’s different from the rest of touristy tagine...
