My friends and I had the best experience in Morocco thanks to this hostel and specifically Youness. I'm not sure what his official title his, but he was the first point of contact when reaching out to the hostel, he also greeted us on our arrival to Morocco, and was around the hostel making sure we were having a good stay.
My friends and I were nervous about navigating Morocco without a tour company but we were able to seamlessly with the help of Youness setting up tour guides for Tangier (including camel ride, Hercules cave, and Moroccan experiences) and a day trip to Chefchaouen (the blue city). We were also able to get a taxi service set up for us to and from the airport so that we didn't have to worry.
I reached out to other hostels to see what they offered in comparable terms and this one was the only hostel that offered these services with great customer service. If you are looking for a hostel in Morocco, this is the one. Book it and don't look back!
There are only a couple of things to know before booking - wifi can be slow if a lot of people are on it at once, the shower is a wet bath where there is zero separation between the shower and toilet area, and I recommend booking the ensuite rooms because the not-ensuite rooms bunk beds were very close to the interior windows which we of course had to have open at night for airflow.
I would still recommend this hostel, especially to anyone looking for a hostel + tour guides set up...
Read moreFirst time staying at a hostel and it was an incredible experience, which is mainly due to the wonderful staff running the place so a special shoutout goes out to Mouad and Hicham who could not have been more lovely or accommodating. They're such genuinely nice people who treated everyone they encountered with such kindness and respect--I loved getting to know a bit about them and the property over the course of my short stay. Also, housekeeping is wonderful. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is spick and span and it shows. Always came back to clean sheets and they washed my towel, which made my stay that much cozier. The rooftop view was stunning--I'm happy I got to see it during both the day and night, and the art/architecture of the establishment was also very enjoyable to look at. Spending all day walking around a city as beautiful as Tangier, then coming back to the hostel and being received with hot tea and good conversation was definitely a highlight for my trip. Really, thank you so much Mouad and Hicham :) my stay wouldn't have been as great without your help and...
Read moreLoved it when we arrived, it's that lovely style of ramshackle backpackers hostel that just feels comfortable. Great check-in with the guy, and our room was really cool, up on the roof with a 'private' veranda. The views are pretty good, and it's a nice social spot as well. Would love to see it when it's properly busy. Would definitely have given it 5 stars, but our booking said it included breakfast, however when we came downstairs there was no one about. There's a sign that says front desk is open from 9am, but there didn't seem to be any staff around at all, so we just left the keys and went. Was kinda sad to be let down by that after the rest is so cool. Btw it's certainly not perfect, there's sketchy electricals, bodged fixes and homemade furniture, but I like that...
