The food wasn't great, but more importantly the man at the front desk is extremely rude. He gave a stupid explanation (after three other people were taken before me) that if I got my henna done by someone different than my friend, I'd complain (I would not have, but he assumed so). I hadn't even picked a design yet so it's not like only one worker could do a certain design but not the other. Instead we were there way longer than if we got it done at the the same time. Then when I said I wasn't going to get one anymore (since it would take too much time), he kept dismissing what I was saying because I "just dont understand." Then when we paid and tried to leave, he cornered us and said he would talk to my friend since I clearly just didn't understand. He kept cutting me off when I said we just wanted to leave and wouldn't let either of us talk. Cornering two girls and forcing them to listen to you is aggressive and unprofessional. Women owned business but has a hostile man cornering people if they don't agree with him. He made an issue out of nothing. I wouldn't have cared if my henna style was different but he made that decision for me.

I am disappointed but unfortunately not surprised by the owner's response. Instead of taking feedback professionally, you chose to personally attack me, make assumptions, and rewrite the situation to blame the customer. When we first arrived, I personally told the man at the front desk that we both wanted to eat and then get henna, and he gave us the henna book and told us to eat upstairs, making it clear from the start that we both intended to get henna. Later, the only reason I approached him was because he had just come into the room and told me I would be getting my henna done by the same artist as my friend. If he truly didn’t know I wanted henna, why would he say that?

Throughout your response, you focus less on the actual situation and more on insulting my character - someone you’ve never met. Meanwhile, my review stuck to describing the staff’s behavior as rude, hostile, and unprofessional without attacking anyone personally. If you look at my other reviews, I rarely leave bad ones - I usually leave positive feedback unless an experience is genuinely upsetting. As for your mention of the video, it would simply show me arguing with the man, trying to leave, coming back for my friend (because he was making her uncomfortable but was too nice to say anything/leave while he was talking. Seeing as I know her personally, I believe I have the right to clarify that your assumptions that I was forcing her to leave were incorrect), and both of us leaving. Was I upset? Absolutely. But your exaggerations about my "demeanor" are unfair and designed to discredit me rather than address the real issue.

Finally, your response reads more like a sarcastic blog post than a professional reply. Criticizing and belittling customers because you don’t like what they said isn’t appropriate - real professionalism is shown not when you receive praise, but how you handle criticism. Should this owner decide to argue any further, I will not respond. I don't have time to deal with a little cafe halfway across the world, but I will stand up for myself when someone attacks...

I was there today and we were welcomed by a (I think british) woman very nicely (I think she is the owner). We were sat on the terace and drank mint tea. The server didn't pay any attention to us and it took really long until I was finally getting my henna tattoo (the main reason why we went there). Now about the tattoo: the lady who served me was barely speaking any english, so I didn't understand what she was telling me, how to hold my hand. She didn't took the time the tattoo needed to look like in the picture and obviously she was not the artist of it, because sadly she clearly didn't understand the motive... She did propotions completely wrong, put more and too much details and because she didn't took enough time, it was getting way bigger than in the picture and less skin was visible in the end. I am very disappointed, because I wanted a nice memory for my instagram and now I totally regret doing it and can't post it. My conclusion: the idea of the cafe is nice. The british lady is nice, but sadly the employees are not qualified for their job. I hope the owner reads this and will change things, because I think the cafe has a lot potential and it's just sad that the employees don't do their best... I would have given 1 star, but I give the lady who I think is the owner a 2nd star, because she was very friendly. I want to add 1 more thing: today was not very nice weather (21 degree, rainy, cold). To let the tattoo dry, they let me sit 45 minutes right in front of a fan, wearing only a T-Shirt. Another girl also had to let her hand dry and because of lack of space someone (me) had to sit right in front of the fan... I still feel cold now (2 hours later) and I really hope, I'm not...

This review is kind of difficult as there is very friendly staff and amazing henna artists here, but I agree with other reviews that the food is not special at all and my henna tattoo barely left a mark (on another review the owner replied the henna might have accidentally been a little old or something, I cannot say why but it was a shame that I left the henna for over half a day and it was almost not visible at all). I do appreciate that the products are natural. And as I said, the artists did a great job. Maybe they could offer different types of henna in the future...not sure if that would be an option. Another thing that I noticed were some really rude and unprofessional comments from the owner to people that had some criticism here on Google. I think this is not great and the main reason why I did not keep my 3 star review to myself (this is currently not a 5 star place in my opinion). Criticism should be picked up with consciousness, professionally and politely as this is a great opportunity to improve the business. And note that Google reviewers take time out of their day to leave a review (they are not paid for it or anything). This place has great potential and it could become a 5 star place if the things other Google reviewers already pointed out would actually be picked up by management. Every guest is precious, especially the ones with feedback as they help you improve your business. With...

We visited this restaurant for dinner and to experience some henna art. The was a mixture of locals and tourists. Food and prices were catered towards both. The bread basket was complimentary with food and it was tasty. We got another small basket with the meal as my husband really enjoyed it with his tagine. He had the kofte tagine and I had the chicken enchilada. His kofte tagine was quite tasty, and he really enjoyed it. My enchilada on the other hand wasnt great. Would have tried something else. The salad it came in with was nice. After dinner I got some henna art on my hand. I was given a book to read and to pick out a design. The henna artist was quick and efficient, following the design in the book very well. After she was done I had to sit in front of a big fan to touch dry the henna. Once she was happy with how much it had dried she applied a lemon sugar solution to my hand and sent me on my way. When I paid for the henna I was given a little sock to put over my hand while I slept! A god send as I was worried about getting the sheets dirty at our riad! Back at the riad I came across an Indian guest who complimented my tattoo and said the method used by the henna artist was proper and traditional! Would recommend for anyone wanting a traditional henna tattoo and some traditional grub at an affordable price.

I would like to mention 2 very important things before my review: 1. Even we all get instructions after finishing henna, you need to understand that big deal in keeping henna is ph of your skin, not just henna and following instructions by itself ! 2. They are working with real henna!!!! You know that by a smell of dirt. You also have to dry it and remove it after 24 hours (if you are making it on Marrakech square they will make it with some kind ink, which will stay on your skin and desapear after few days. Huge difference in everything!! This was a unique experience! I came to make henna on my 2nd day in Marrakesh. Guy on entrance gave me a catalog with photos to choose design. How design is big, complicated is how you know the price (it is written from the side). When I chose mine I set next to a wonderful lady that made me my beautiful henna. She was so kind and patient! My husband came to pick me up and at the end he wanna get one for himself!!!! It' been 10days since we made it and his one is like he just made it. Mine is still doing pretty well! Great place and highly recommend for henna!

Disappointing Mehendi Experience for €16 The place, recommended specifically for getting mehendi done, turned out to be a major disappointment considering the €16 price. The setting itself was charming with a nice atmosphere, the staff were efficient, and there was a wide range of designs available with clear pricing. However… The design I received was only loosely based on the one shown in the catalog. While the artist started off carefully, the further they went, the sloppier it became. Part of the design near my nails was only added after a younger colleague at the neighboring station pointed it out. Despite following all aftercare instructions—keeping the paste on for 10 hours, avoiding water for the next 24 hours, and regularly moisturizing the skin with oil—the design faded significantly within just 3 days. On my forearm, it was nearly invisible. I understand that henna results can vary individually, but 72 hours? I even have photos from Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to show the fading. Overall, very underwhelming.
