Leo's at the Castle — Restaurant in Khomas

We went there in January for the first time, and had the most amazing experience ever! From food to service, everything was absolutely perfect. So this time around I had to go back, but was completely disappointed. The service was the worst. Our waiter seemed new and very inexperienced. When I asked him if he was new and he replied that he had been working there for 7 years, I was absolutely shocked! He made such rookie and unexpected mistakes for the level of place they try to sell, for example, we served our wine ourselves for the entire time. The food was very average this time around as well. The prawns were actually bad and we sent the dish back. The chef came to apologise, but still sent us a salad with the bad prawns. And you would expect that they would immediately take it out of the check? But no, they did not. I had to remind them. Anyways. Not sure if I will coming back from...

Sorry to say but very underwhelming! Firstly dining area in the restaurant was very hot and unpleasant. The starters ordered were enjoyed. The mains, very disappointing! 3 ordered Springbuck and under seasoned, chewy (even though medium rare) and the risotto undercooked. The beef fillet was also under seasoned but worse was the Dauphinoise potato which was stone cold and chilled and runny. To be fair I had to spit it out. A replacement was offered after we had to search for any serving staff and then my wife waited 30 minutes for the replacement. Another 15 minute wait for the bill and 2 and a half hours later the nightmare was over. The highlight was the stunning sunset views over Windhoek, pity about the food and service. Would find another local restaurant and skip the overpriced food and...

I don’t mind paying for good food given the quality is high (tasty and special) and consistent. The food was 50/50, we both had a starter and then a main. The one starter was sensational, the second one below average. The same for the mains. The part that left a bad taste was the “wine waiter”, after not having the wine we selected in their cellar, he came with two alternative bottle of wine as recommendations (with no wine menu) and we went with his preference as he said it was the best comparative option…..just to find out at the end that it was almost double the price, poor style from him, nothing we could not afford but poor form from such a fine establishment…..one would think. I cannot...
