Stratos At Avani — Restaurant in Khomas

I visited Stratos Windhoek during my holidays, and overall, it was a good experience. The atmosphere is fantastic—modern yet relaxed, with stunning views. We really enjoyed the cocktails, and the food was delicious.

However, we did have an issue with the service. When we asked to order tequila shots, our waitress informed us that the only option was Don Julio. When we got the bill, we were surprised by how expensive those shots were, especially compared to some tequila cocktails we'd also ordered.

We spoke to the manager, who kindly explained that there were actually other, more affordable tequila options available that we were not told about before. I’d recommend double-checking when ordering, just to make sure you’re not misinformed.

What to say about the evening? There were definitely many positive aspects, but unfortunately a few things didn’t quite hit the mark.

The sliding door kept opening every minute, letting in cold air, which made it a bit uncomfortable. We could have chosen seats more toward the center, but the DJ’s music was so loud that it made conversation between us almost impossible.

The food was good. The meat was of high quality, which is something you can usually expect in Namibia. The waiters were very attentive and professional, which was a strong point.

Unfortunately, some other guests nearby were having trouble paying their bill, and that created a tense atmosphere around where we were sitting.

The worst desserts we have ever had. Cheese cake with cherries is a dry piece of low quality cake with some plastic jam. 3 mini kebabs with fruit are just a pile of random fruit. McDonald’s cares more about the taste and how the good looks like on the plate. We got menus with different prices - obviously we paid according to higher price list. The pool on the roof was full of rubbish and when l asked the staff why they don’t clean it, the lady was surprised how it looked like - standing all the time in front of it:) and she said that they took out the rubbish the day befer :D yes, that is how you clean the pool.
