In nice weather, this is one of the very best places to enjoy food and drink within view of the Boudha Stupa. Also affords a great view of the Hyatt Hotel, one of the greatest architectural marvels of Nepal, and if you have binoculars, of activity stemming from Tribhuvan Airport. In 18 months time, the venue has become a favorite for expats working in Nepal, monks, khenpos and visiting Rinpoches in Boudha, as well as the occasional work meeting for those working in film or performing arts in Nepal. It's a classy place that could barely be improved over what the management and staff have already accomplished. Highly recommended for leisure or, especially, work-related gatherings! I recently visited this rooftop restaurant, and I really liked the overall vibe. The view of the Boudha Stupa from the rooftop was amazing — it really added to the atmosphere. Even though the place isn’t that big, it still feels open and spacious. The pizza and momo were really good, and the drinks and coffees were great too. However, I was a bit disappointed with the sizzler and the chicken breast dishes — the chicken was too dry and lacked seasoning, making it taste quite bland. If they could make those dishes a bit juicier and more flavorful, it would make the experience perfect. Malaya Rooftop is a real gem with its stunning rooftop terrace that offers a magnificent view of the Boudha neighbourhood and the impressive Boudhanath stupa. The choice of food and drink is varied and the value for money is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the toilets are always clean.
