Read moreI did not stay in a room at this hotel but saw one or two rooms that friends were staying in, and the accommodations were comfortable and high-end. The restaurant is also worth a visit, even for non-guests; some dishes have earned the restaurant return visits from me or my friends. However nice the restaurant is (high ceilings, pool-adjacent and picturesque), the restaurant staff was not prepared for many tables of hungry diners, and the food was sometimes delayed too long (45 minutes to one hour). So do not expect a fully relaxed dining experience here, if the restaurant has many guests -- it does not, or did not, have an adequate kitchen staff for many (20+) diners. Also of note here is the well-staffed lobby and front desk, which will serve various coffees and pastries to anyone that asks. The lobby is 5-star quality and beautiful, perfect for business meetings or ad-hoc video interviews, for example. The outdoor dining area is also pleasant, with shaded areas in full-sun weather. The pool is available to paying customers for a fee. So you may schedule a birthday party with pool access, if you can afford the rather high per-person fees (about NR 600 as I recall). Lastly, the hotel also contains the facilities of a defunct Tibetan monastery. The temple is slightly maintained i.e. tormas are offered once in a while. If you want to sponsor a yoga class or ritual, the temple is available. The temple murals are exquisite, showing the lineage gurus and other deities of the Karma Kagyu tradition, making this disused temple more memorable than most functioning Gumbas in the area. It's sad that the monastery did not succeed and had to be converted into a hotel, but at least the new owners have maintained the temple and made it accessible to guests or...
