I went there with a friend. We placed an order and waited. The cook there who take the order did not even look at us. Our order was a snack platter of the ready made foods which are ready to eat items. We waited for 15 minutes and still we were not served. 15 minutes after, a non-Nepali english speaking tourist came in and ordered vegetarian dish - a baRa (lentil pancake) and chatamari (which is a newari style crepe or some people call it a newari pizza). Anyways, this cook now smiles and prepares their food ahead of us. Seeing our displeasure, the other server asked and quickly served us. This was not the only case. While we were eating, there was another Nepali customer who placed an order for a lentil baRa. The cook forgot about it after serving the tourists and sat down. She then remembered after the lady reminded her of an order. This is a local eatery which is run by the Nepali customers who spend more than the foreigners or tourists but what kind of customer service is this? Additionally, when the tourists were leaving, she was smiling and saying bye to them. When we were leaving, my friend thanked her and smiled. She ignored. The tourists ate a baRa and chatamari and were charged 300 NPR. we had one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian snack platter, and we were also charged 300 NPR. I did not understand this math also, and they did not have menu with the price.
I had gone there because I thought this was an alternative eatery to Honacha - a popular newari food place. However, the snack platter that we tasted is not as good. And then the behavior of the lady cooking and serving the guests. I am not going there any more and will suggest others also not to go especially if you are a Nepali because these people do not appreciate the local customers. My friend said that this has happened before also, so it is not one...

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! THEY SERVE FOOD ON PLATES WHERE DOGS WITH “LEPROSY” and “RABIES” LICK ON THEM & THEY DO NOT EVEN WASH THOSE DISHES. We asked them to throw away those plates that have been touched and licked by diseased stray dogs however, the staff did not listen to us and instead put the plate in the sink mixed with other plates that they later on serve new customers. Moreover, she did not even wash her hands after picking up the disease infested plate and used the same right hand to pick up “sekuwas” meat from the open air storage and started frying it on the pan and packed the meat with the help of her right hand. THIS IS DISGUSTING & DISGRACEFUL! I CARE ABOUT LOCAL BUSINESSES BUT BUSINESS WITH NO HOSPITALITY SKILLS AND BAD HYGIENE IS A NO, NO!

Read moreUsed to be one of my favorite places for Yomari. Other items are average. The service was subpar before too, however recently the service is horrendous. The taste has changed, and hygiene is a BIG issue. They don’t take your order By some chance, if they do take your order, they’ll prolly forget about it or you’re going to be left confused as to whether they took your order or not because they won’t acknowledge you If they do end up serving the food to you (after you remind them of the order, about 30 mins of wait later), it’s probably going to be served with dirty, poorly washed utensils
If you want Newari food & good Nepali Hospitality, this is not the place...
