This is quite an unusual accommodation. The property is a converted 19th century building, which means it is quite quirky and charming with low thresholds at places and weird angles...and door padlock which was attached to a chain. Yet it is clean and inviting. I stayed in room 10 which was on the top floor with its own little balcony looking down a narrow alleyway and the hustle and bustle of Patan. The buildings surround a courtyard that has places to sit and eat on the first floor as well as on the balcony. I was initially given a room with no view. I payed a little more to stay in a room with a great view, especially at sunset. Two things to note: there is no air conditioning and no elevator. I thought this was going to be a problem but it really wasn't. I was there in May and I had the window open, had no insects/mosquitos in the room.|The staff were all very friendly and helpful.|You can just walk outside the Inn and explore the narrow alleyways full of small restaurants and shops. Durbar Square is 5 minutes away...fun to explore at night. I ate at a local hole-in-the wall (there were actually holes in the wall) where the staff spoke no English.|I would definitely...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at the Inn for nearly two weeks of my one month of travel in Nepal. I was traveling with a group of college students and professors from Northeastern University. After only one night there it quickly became our home away from home!|I stayed in Room 2 and spent most of my time sitting in my windowsill and enjoying the view of the courtyard. The bedroom and bathroom were cozy, comfortable, and clean. The real charm of the Inn however is the incredible staff! We were tremendously cared for throughout our stay, with constant attention to our needs (and some we didn't even know we had). There was always new drinking water in the room and (optional) daily room cleanings. |I also highly recommend dining at the Inn! Of course you have to sample the classic Nepali Thali and the momos (chicken or veg!), but the chicken pita and pesto pasta can't be missed. I truly loved...
Read moreArchitecture and design: 10/10! So beautiful. We had the large room on the top floor with terrace and a view. It was really stunning. Staff was friendly. The breakfast was okay - rather basic. Would have been great to get some bread instead of toast and if they would offer vegan milk alternatives for the coffee. Most importantly, I would have wished for a cleaner room - especially the bathroom was not clean. We stayed for two nights and I asked the staff to clean the shower after the first night - and they did not clean it. Which I think is a total no-go. There were spiders and webs, but also hairs at the bottom of the shower and a lot of stains from soap on the fixtures in the shower - it was clearly...
