't Vliegertje — Restaurant in Amsterdam

We were a group of 19, made reservations for dinner about a week prior. 4 of us ordered the "catch of the day" which was Pad Thai noodles with gamba. As soon as the plates arrived and we took the first bite, all 4 of us refused to eat it. it smelled and tasted rotten. After telling the waitress, she took my plate, went into the kitchen, came back about 30 seconds later and put the plate back on my table telling me that "everything is fine"! All 4 of us refused to eat it. We never got offered a different meal so we all just finished the side salads and shared some frech fries with the rest of the group. I asked for the check after dinner (which was close to €1.000 for 19 people) and the waitress refused to take the 4 rotten noddles off the bill. This was unaccpetable and I have never experienced anything like this before. The food of the rest of the group was ok but the whole situation left a really bad impression with all of us.

edit after the response of the owner: I understand that tastes are different. I have had many pad thais in my life but yours tasted just awefull and nothing I have ever tasted before. I was not the only one, there were 4 of us complaining about this dish. my point here is: the whole situation could have been handled different from your staff. Don't really understand the 5 starts reviews. The setting is nothing special. Inside a 'brown' café and you can sit outside on a terras which is nice. But it's on a busy road with lots of cars and the view is quit ugly. Food is a mixed bag. My spare ribs were great. My wife's steak wasn't. It was very dry and lacked flavor. We took the 3 course meal which was €29,95. But when we got the check we saw the steak was €5,- extra. Wasn't a reason not to get the steak but it would be nice to hear upfront. The actual reason not to get the steak is because it was dry as a bone. Luckily the staff was really nice. But 3 different people asking us if we are ready to order multiple times is maybe a bit to much.

PLEASE ORDER THE JAPANESE BEEF ROLLS!!!!! We had 1 order of spicy and 1 order of crispy ribs which were amazing! Nicely sauced, the scallions, onions, and spicy peppers really enhanced the flavor of the ribs. The ribs themselves were cooked very well. The French fries and garlic aoli (I believe) were delicious. The star of the show was the Japanese beef roll appetizer. Meat was seasoned PERFECTLY, scallions were delicious, and the dipping sauces were amazingly tasty! Food was literally perfect.
