Barrica — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Every year I organize a Christmas gathering with my closest friends to celebrate Christmas. This year I chose Bar Barrica. Why? Because it’s in my neighborhood in Oud West, and it met all the requirement's I was looking for, when hosting such a gathering. We were 17 friends, and we could not have asked for more. The staff were amazing, attentive and really looked after us throughout the whole night. The wine was amazing and the tapas type, sharing food, was delicious. Everyone had an amazing time, as illustrated with the lovely messages i received the next day about this wine bar and restaurant. They all thought it was a very, special place to have a cosy intimate, evening with friends. I would definitely recommend this magical little gem, in the Oud West. Frozen mushrooms and sauce in the truffle pasta which makes me think the food is not fresh.... Also a hair in the brownie, which is something that can happen (we're all human and have hair) but in combination with the frozen truffle pasta... not the greatest experience, unfortunately.

Just been to Barrica and told them I only had an hour for a quick bite with a friend but was completely ignored for 30 minutes. New groups came and managed to order and be served before my friend went in to ask if we could order. Ignored again and the table next to us were able to order. Can only think the only difference between me and everyone else was that I wasn’t white. Can’t really think of another reason why I was ignored repeatedly and the waiters preferred to serve...
