Bayu Food Art & Private Dining — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Since i‘ve never found good Indonesian Restaurant/Toko in Germany, so everytime i visit The Netherlands, it‘s always good to visit one of them here.

As Indonesian i could say i liked the foods, especially their Bakso (8,8/10) it was Bakso Mercon which has chili inside the big one, wasn‘t that spicy for me because i apparently eat another level of spicy food😆, but sadly they don‘t serve any Sambal with it, only Sriracha and Sweet Soy Sauce, but well it was still okay. Their Gado Gado (8,5/10) was also nice, to me their peanut sauce was bit too smooth yes has excellent taste, veggies were fresh, lontong was okay, kerupuk and emping served, so no complain. My friend tried their Fish Combo, served with Ikan Asam Manis and 2 choices of veggies (7,0/10) tbh i don‘t like the stir veggies they serve, lack of taste, wasn‘t the stir i always eaten or cooked at home idk, but the fish was nice.

Extra point was they also sell some Indonesian snacks which i‘ve been missing of, and with reasonable prices, so i was buying a lot of it too😋

Anyway, the service was great, people as friendly as they should be, we talked a lot, it was such a great atmosphere to be there.

Disappointed, terrible taste and they charged more without you knowing it. Update: I had to finish my plate empty because I didn't want to waste it and if I didn't finish my plate I have to pay you anyway. We didn't order many extras as we followed to the combo which mentioned 2 vegetables and I ordered only 1 vegetable and another 1 was tofu/tempeh whereas I didn't know it should be considered as an extra. The tofu/tempeh was hard and sour, the lady will not tell you in advance that there is an extra charge to choose other items and tricked you to do it anyway. If she mentioned clearly beforehand, I wouldn't dare to change my choices and strictly followed to the combo promo. You also added up and charged more instead only for the combo. None of us ever complimented that we're satisfied...

I’m not the one to write bad reviews but felt compelled to do so after a horrible experience. After reading great reviews here, I was excited to try and order a small take out in hopes to order more in the future. An old Dutch guy picked up the food with his bear hands and put it in to to-go plastic. I was shocked to see this especially after I saw him handle payment and touching other objects then to grab food with his bare hands without using a cooking tong or washing his hands. Eww! I can’t believe a restaurant would do this especially after going through pandemic. I politely asked him to give me another one and not to touch it with his hand. He rudely and angrily told me to leave. Wow, what a bad service and this makes me wonder their...
