We were here last sunday, group of 3, we were seated pretty quickly which was great. We ordered a buttermilk chicken burger (great), an eggs benedict(decent) and a veg sandwich, our serve repeated the order back to us and my friend confirmed veg, I don't know why she did not write it down anywhere, probably counting on remembering it. Food came pretty fast, my friend who has been vegetarian the whole 40 years of his life takes a prompt bite of his sandwich makes a confused face, opens it, lo and behold bacon! and an obviously meat patty. He was visiting amsterdam and we chose to take him to box social because we had been there before several times and liked it. I felt so guilty as if i had made him eat that, we immediately told our server we had ordered the vegetarian sandwich, and she said she will replace it, and she did. After this she just stopped attending our table. No apology, nothing. Our mood was ruined but oh well, We sat there at a table for 2 with an extra chair to accommodate 3 people for barely 15 mins after our food arrived, we are all quick eaters, and also the food was served pretty quickly so in total within 30 mins of us sitting there. As soon as we finished our food, and were just about to ask for the check (not even 1 minute had passed in between), another server comes to us and says we need to leave because they need the table. I think if you seat down people at the cafe and they're each getting a main and a drink and they are even tipping you, and you freaking messed up their order and gave bacon to a vegetarian, the last thing you should do is ask them to leave within 30 mins of seating them, They hadn't taken taken away our dishes even 2 minutes ago. Anyway, despite this my friend tipped them 10% and we got the hell out of there. We will not be coming...

First time in Amsterdam. What a culture bomb it is to be in the city. An incredible aesthetic city made even more exciting that there were some expat Aussies busting the envelope of brunch dining in a very food traditional city. They brought the palate of food multiculturalism from Australia to the streets of Amsterdam. It was like stepping into the inner city cafes of Sydney. Polished Cafe and gastro pub style cuisine with an excellent cocktail and bar list. After a night of celebration the night before the Bloody Mary here is essential to keep the party alive in Amsterdam. Spicy, sweet and a good morning wake up call with the first sip. Next up a bacon n eggs cocktail. A take on a whisky sour. Breakfast in a cocktail glass!! The food was exceptional. Sometimes I've found Europe to be lagging behind with few venues in the adapting of outside culinary delights and stuck in traditional foods. Bos Sociaal brings a little bit of the outside world with an aesthetic cultural polish that is Amsterdam. Have the tacos as a share plate, the mix of Korean and Mexican is bang on. Share your whole brunch with each other as the whole menu is meant to share as well. Top ranked meal in Amsterdam.
