Schiller is a rare beauty in the fact that it's a hidden oasis, emanating the same ambiance as the Tuschinski theatre (art deco interior, breathing the long lost times of life at the turn of the next century a hundred years ago), smacked in the middle of an over-touristy and annoyingly hectic hub of all sorts of people (of which 80-90% are tourists). Sat down for drinks and ordered promptly. Food arrived hot and tasty. Tried their local Dutch sausages and mash, salad, pasta similar to a cabonara and fish with pork belly. The restaurant needs prior booking as it’s always busy. The tables up front are available for walk ins.
The bitterballen is what we got along with a couple of beers. The service is really good. They would recommend drinks/food if you want to try anything local.
The place is easy to get to. There is a separate entrance so you don’t have to go through hotel Schiller.
