Coffee Company. — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I have been going to this place for a while because of the convenience of its location, but after the last couple of visits no more. This review is not as much about The Coffee Company, which is a franchise, but particularly about this badly run location. The prices are on the higher end, but the coffee is very average and the customer service almost non existent. The exception are the two guys working there, which are very nice. The worst part about this location is that there is typically only one barista, who does not have time for a good customer service when it's busier or before they close. There also seems to be a quite high labor turnaround and the new people are not always well trained. I have seen a barista who was not sure how to prepare my drink so I had to tell her, on another few occasions there was no one behind the counter 15 minutes before closing and they just do not care, or a barista walked away from the machine while preparing my drink with trash and when she came back she did not even wash her hands and served me the drink like this was the normal routine. The last time I bought a large coffee it was given to me in a medium cup and when I emphasized it the barista just poured it over to the large cup, foam from the coffee completely gone. I am able to tolerate a few mistakes here and there, but this seems to be a pattern of bad customer service and a lack of proper training. So my advice is go somewhere else, the area has a plenty of other places where you will get a better coffee and they will provide you with a service...

I used to visit this place on weekends to work for a couple of hours. I spend around €30 on average coz i like it. It had a cozy, friendly atmosphere with a mix of students and others working on laptops.

However, coming back after a few months, I noticed many tables now have “No Laptop Zone” signs. Even when the shop is not crowded, it feels uncomfortable to use a table, creating an unwelcoming vibe for students or workers.

Perhaps management changed and decided it wasn’t good for business, which I understand, but for me, these signs make the atmosphere less inviting. So I wish this shop the best 😉 but I will come back maybe when i just want to hang out with a friend to chat. But no longer a place to catch up with work or something wtih your...

What a cool spot to have coffee and do some work. It’s quite small but has decent amount of space. Giant table on one side of the store and small individual tables with good cushion. Not too crowded, I easily grabbed the table I like the most in the corner.

The barista was pretty cool. Can tell he love his job, singing along with the music.
