We were walking by and the smell wafting from this restaurant literally brought us inside. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and kindly explained the menu to us. You choose a grain, three vegetables, and a protein - simple, easy.
After sitting down and digging in it quickly became apparent that this was one of the finest meals we had had in a long time. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and had such a deep and complex spiced flavour. The braised chicken was tender and falling apart - much like would you expect from beef - I have never had chicken like that before. In a world where eating out is getting more expensive and quality is decreasing, Rue la bastille is a breath of fresh air.
