Love the freshness they produce continuously throughout the day, instead just produce and stop and letting the bread and pastry sit making it not that fresh anymore. Love they are that transparent about their production. The shop area is like 10% of the building. Not a big list of products but wide enough to satisfying a daily bread lover. It is really a local bakery but with a lot of passion and heart. Love the staff friendly fast and easy but would love more love (smiling). The team is young what I like because it shows most of the time passion and being more grounded.
They are famous for their croissant. I had 2 and I need to say they are not hot, but the crust is really crusty and will not easily be found in other bakery but I need to say the inside is fluffy but there is no layering what is pity because I always love a good layering in a croissant the more layers the nicer. Also love it is not over buttery what most bakers do to make people love their croissant. The price is oke just a bit higher than you local baker. 3/10
What next coming is for me a hit, canele. It is quite strange why not more bakers have it in their assortment, maybe because they do not that popular. The crust is really nice not too thick just enough the inside nice moist and fluffy. Ugh the crust brought so much flavor and depth. The size is not small but regular size what is suprising that the crust is still crunchy as it can become soggy leaving too long out as the internally there is moist. Even all tho it was not hot or anything that fresh means if it was hot the experience could be even higher 4.5/10
If I live around I will have once in a while a hot croissant to enjoy a nice weather with some yogurt and fruits some coffee enjoy it in my apartment in the window and just relax. Or when I with a lover in bed croissant coffee and thats it. For the canele I want this almost everyday hard to skip it...
Read moreSo.good.! Everything was fabulous. Farmer sourdough loaf was huge and hearty and delicious, I can enjoy it straight up even without butter/oil/any condiments. Perfectly crispy crust, the right amount of chew and slight tang in flavor — truly the loaf of my dream 🥹.
Mexican fiesta hartige croissant was (savory, duh) interesting, like eating a burrito in the form of a croissant..? I enjoyed it and I appreciate the creativity 🌯🇲🇽
Cruffin (apple, lemon, jasmine) was a showcase of skills and balance in flavor, covered in sugar but I (surprisingly) didn’t hate it. Jasmine cream was fragrant and light and creamy, in contrast to the tangy lemon compote, and all of this happenings inside a flakey buttery shell. I couldn’t taste any apple but I also might have devoured the whole thing a tad too quickly..
No seatings inside, just a couple of benches on the sidewalk. There’s a line but it moves quickly. Open kitchen which you’d get a sneak peek of what goes behind the scenes. Staff clearly work hard here. As pricey as you’d expect for Amsterdam standard, but for the quality I’ll return in...
Read moreThere is a reason this place has a 20+ minute line out of the door on weekends. At first I thought I was crazy to wait in said line but it was absolutely 100% worth it. The offerings at this bakery will absolutely blow you away, especially the specials that they have on the weekends. I had the croissant special this past Saturday which was probably one of the best croissants I've ever had. They also had a couple of varieties of cruffins (muffin + croissant cross) and had the one with the pomegranate and hibiscus flavoring which was absolutely decadent! Went back on a Monday with no line but no specials either and got just a plain cheese croissant which was incredible as well. Perfect texture, flakiness and brimming with flavor, my only regret was not buying some more to bring back with me to NYC.
