A small restaurant ,located in front of the canals of Amstel river with great view and Italian cuisine. The menu is small with 5-6 starters ( brusqueta al pomodoro , focaccia ,salata caprese , plateue of cheese and meat) pasta 6-7 (carbonara , Ragu , gnocchi with gorgonzola and pepper ravioli with mushrooms) 3 kind of pizzas (but you can also choose your own ingredients) and main dishes like ossobuco , lamb chops , etc. We ordered a bottle of red wine (25 euro) from Sicily (I didn't like the fact that the bottled was opened in the kitchen and not in front of us) . We ordered 3 x ossobucos , one pizza Margherita and one focatia (focaccia was like a pizza with tomato sauce) The pizza was good , and the ossobuco was tastfull but small in portion. We totally paid 136 euros for that meal. The service was quick , helpful with the menu but the tables weren't cleaned before our meal. In total is a great place for a beer/ wine and some finger food with a beautiful view but I wouldn't recommend it for a full meal (pricy - small portion - not a real Italian restaurant ,but close to ) . Also is away from tourists and the loud touristic zone...
Read moreOur experience at Frenzi was absolutely perfect on every single level. The atmosphere of the place was warm and welcoming, the food, wine and beer were all delicious and extremely reasonably priced but above all this, the best thing about Frenzi was its staff.
The waiting staff were all exceptional; being effortlessly friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. This would have been appreciated anytime but it was made all the more special that we had our 12 month old child with us and for her to be catered for in such an inclusive, calm, professional and caring manner without anything being made a big deal of was wonderful.
Thanks to this the restaurant had a lovely family friendly and inclusive vibe whilst simultaneously maintaining a comforting, sophisticated and 'grown up' feel to it. Truly a high bar set as to how to cater for families with a small +1!
On passing the kitchen on the way to the restrooms the chefs too were friendly and welcoming contributing to Frenzi being an absolutely fantastic restaurant that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat, with or without a child.

Read moreThe most thoroughly abysmal dining experience in my 30 years of regular travel to Europe. We requested an outside table with our reservation and we were assigned an outside table on providing our names at arrival. The waitress took our orders reasonably promptly, and after about 10 minutes our drinks had still not arrived when the waitress told us we could not remain at our table, that someone else had reserved it. We explained that we were directed to take this table on arrival and the waitress told us we were lying to her. This was rather upsetting and we expressed our surprise, but the waitress refused to apologize or to acknowledge any error on her part or that of the restaurant. After a few minutes of discussion, during which she continued to maintain that we were lying to her, a bouncer arrived and threatened us with physical violence if we remained on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant (which is public property I presume). Definitely an establishment that espouses insults and threats of violence towards its clientele. (Oh and the men's room was filthy and had no...
