Singel 101 is a hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam , a place that feels more like being welcomed into someone’s home than going out to dinner. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and intimate, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that makes you instantly relax. There’s no written menu, and that’s part of the magic: Julia, the owner and soul of the restaurant, personally explains each course as if sharing a secret. Her kindness, attention, and genuine love for food turn the experience into something deeply personal. Every dish is an explosion of authentic flavors creative yet comforting, refined yet full of heart. You can taste the passion in every bite. Dining here isn’t just eating; it’s a journey through Julia’s culinary world spontaneous, emotional, and unforgettable. The menu is based on organic, locally sourced ingredients often at zero-kilometer distance , combined with the finest Portuguese olive oils and character-rich wines from around the world. Each dish is a spontaneous creation, bursting with genuine flavors that feel both refined and soulful. What makes Singel 101 truly unique is Julia’s ethical approach: she gives honest value to her cuisine, proving that you can experience world-class food without spending a fortune. Dining here isn’t about trends it’s about heart, authenticity, and the pure joy of flavor....

Beautifully setting - if you are lucky (and weather permits) you have a choice of a few tables outside on a quiet street at the canal. This part of the street is residents only do not a lot of traffic

And the cool part : there is no regular menue but a chef‘s choice. You can only decide on 3,5 or 5 courses and then sit back and relaxed. Yes it is more gourmet style food but the setting is so cozy, superb but not distant Service and a great set-up. So great spot to indulge yourself or go with a date (or date night) or …

I had the four courses and had Seabass with a Yuzu sauce and Nori - what a great starter. Fresh, juicy and citrusy notes that go well with the fish.

Onsen-style egg with Bulgur salad and Lebanese bread as a vegetarian dish with a beautiful foam of Ras al Hanout - this brings the Middle East taste nuts to flourish. Also light dish for the summer heat - well balanced and done with love, the blend of the earthy egg with the fresh middle eastern composition is great

Tenderloin just perfectly cocked - with potato mouse and a fresh herbal flicker with capers… what better as a main course with a glad of Shiraz?

Blackberry sorbet with almond crumble and some leaves that tastes like anis

What a great experience and joy were having dinner at Singel 101. We are locals and walk the Singel on a daily base. Suddenly in the first week of 2020, we didn’t have, any of our 5, kids and took the liberty to have dinner.

What a success, we were welcomed with a big smile from Victor and got a two-person table in the middle of Julia her restaurant. We started off with a glass of nice champagne. As we are not big eaters we went for the 3-course chef menu and the wine arrangement. Every dice was a feast. The fish, meat and even dessert, which we never eat but Victor told us we had to, was a joy of flavors.

I will not give spoilers about the food and no pictures because I think you should experience Singel 101 yourself.

Highly recommended and one of the nicest places in de Jordaan. The team of that evening was Julia and Victor and with every dish and wine, we got the story behind it which gives extra ‘taste’ to the amazing food. Do yourself a favor and book a table, I will be back myself...

We were looking for a restaurant near to the Anne Frank House and found this on Open Table. It was an absolutely wonderful dinner. We chose the four course dinner, which is always the chef’s choice, and it was fabulous. First we had fresh-baked bread, which was great, with olive oil from Chile and whipped butter (we could make a meal out of that!). First course was sea bass with radishes, served cold, reminded me of a ceviche. It was refreshing and just the right amount. Second course was chick peas, cucumber, chick pea purée and an egg that was slow cooked for 3 hours at 62 degrees C - what a wonderful texture. Third course was beef tenderloin, cooked perfectly medium rare, with mashed potatoes and parsnip - so good! And dessert was raspberry sorbet with blackberries on a base of crushed almond cookie. My wife had a glass of chenin blanc and I had a Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve Scotch. We chatted with the owner and the chef came out with some of the dishes, and that made the meal even more special!

A well kept secret: the perfect place for amazing food and warm friendly hospitality. Our hostess of the evening welcomed us in their restaurant like being part of the family. To start with ... there is no menu. Just choose how many courses you want to eat. If you are alergic to something please let them know. The food looked like art ... and then there was the taste. So much flavors and coocked just perfectly. At the end, the only regret was that we did not order more courses. Very happy with this place. We really love to come back.
