Came here a while back and ordered the ciabatta Cortona and a lasagne bolognese and found my experience to be average to good.

They have a brilliant system in place in terms of walking in and ordering. Due to the efficiency of that the service goes quite quickly, even if there is a big line waiting.

After ordering my food I waited around 5min before it was ready and they gave me my order with cutlery, napkins and clarified the order while handing it over.

Once an order has been placed one of the staff grabs the receipt and actually makes that exact order, for then to be given out at the counter.

The lasagne was quite plain, had barely any meat in it and was primarily pasta sheets and tomato sauce. The flavour was quite underwhelming.

The ciabatta was made with lovely fresh ingredients with a good balance between toppings and bread. It could have had the topping spread out more evenly, but overall it didn't disappoint.

Service is quick, efficient and fast. The server at the counter was slamming the orders through and kept things very organised.

Overall a fine place to get a very decently priced sandwich or...

Most customers come here for sandwiches but I come here for warm dishes… with mixed results. First the positives: the salami pizza was crispy and not too salty. A bonus for me; the chocolate cannoli also tasted good. I tried the seafood risotto which was the dish of the day, and it was surprisingly flavourful. And it was only 6 euro, when a small soup next door costs 5.5 euro. Some things I don’t like: tiramisu tastes just like the ones from the supermarket. Not so fresh. Nothing special. The rustico with cheese was very greasy and heavy, and I gave up eating after a few bites. I don’t recommend it. Despite the mixed results in tasting, I would still give this place five stars because the food was really good value for money, especially in an expensive city like Amsterdam. I hope they will always keep the prices affordable . Also I find the ordering process very organised and staff very friendly and efficient. Another plus for me. Better to go there before 1130am if you want to...

I don't usually write reviews, but I had such a good experience that I felt obligated to share. I contacted Caldi e Freddi to inquire about the possibility of having catering delivered for a rather large family gathering (30 people). Contact with Flavio, the owner, was very smooth, and I appreciated that he thought along about specific questions regarding the delivery (e.g. getting the food delivered hot, the specific containers the food would be stored in, etc). He also spotted an error in my calculations which came out in my favor, which I appreciated. The delivery itself was perfectly on time and communicated properly in advance, and the food was still more than warm enough to be eaten directly. Most importantly, the food I ordered (a combination of the various pasta's and sandwiches) was absolute amazing, and for a very reasonable price a that....

Omg are these Italian sandwiches good. These are the best freaking sandwiches you will ever have!! These wicked wiches are made with a toasted baguette and specialty meats and cheese of your choosing. We ordered the spoleto with eggplant, special salami (spinata romana), arugula and provolone cheese. Do ask for the spicy sauce which is a special blend of vegetables. At first when I ate it I was not impressed. I'm not sure what happened but after two bites I could not stop. It's hard to change my mind after I made my mind up about something and this place did just that. My impression was so drastically changed that after my husband and I wolfed that sandwich down we went back and ordered TWO more. The service is great and the people let us try some of the ham to see if we liked it. Would definitely recommend this place. It is for sure the best sandwich I ever had!
