A truly authentic Japanese dining experience that perfectly balances flavor, atmosphere, and hospitality. Tucked away from the bustle of Amsterdam Zuid, this cozy spot offers a memorable journey through traditional Japanese cuisine with a modern touch.
The staff are attentive, gracious, and genuinely passionate about their food, creating a service experience that feels both professional and heartfelt.
The (surprisingly affordable) a la carte menu consists of a wide variety of small, healthy dishes and while they remain true to their Japanese roots, there’s often a surprising twist. These small surprises never feel forced though; instead, they highlight a deep understanding of balance. We recommend ordering 4 or 5 items at a time and don't be surprised if you end up trying a bit of everything.
The ambiance is serene and inviting, especially the big windows allow a lot of natural lighting to contribute to the natural textures of the interior, the tables are broad and well placed, allowing just the right amount of buzz from fellow diners to keep the energy lively without ever feeling chaotic. Making it ideal for both an intimate dinner or a relaxed evening with friends.

The cuisine is precise and exquisite: Highlights included the signature Chawanmushi with Crab & Black Truffle, which added immense umami to the delicate custard. The main Tempura course delivered seven pieces of seasonal seafood and vegetables, like plump prawn and scallop, served individually to guarantee crispness. The meal concluded with the comforting Tempura Chazuke (small dices of tempura squid, asparagus, and sweet potato served over rice with a hot dashi broth).

Read moreWe had the Tempura Kaiseki Menu which consists of 6 different courses. Aside from dishes like chawanmushi and sashimi, the main course included a selection of seafood and vegetable tempura. Each tempura piece was brought to the table one by one to ensure its crispness when serving.
The batter was light and crisp - my favorites were the prawn, squid, and scallop. Their chawanmushi with crab and black truffle sauce was also one of the highlights from our dinner. The sauce just added so much flavor and richness to the steamed egg custard which was more neutral in flavor.
Service was warm, hospitable and attentive. The restaurant is located in Amsterdam Zuid which is quite lowkey, perfect to just relax and enjoy each course. Highly...
