The food is nice. The staff however is rude, slow, incompetent and inattentive. Very unpleasant experience having dinner there. Staff literally hanging at the bar between the kitchen and the restaurant. It was not crowded at all, but I had to wait for quite a while for my food. Then when I wanted to pay none of the three waiters were paying any attention. After sitting with my coat on for a while I decided to pay at the bar. There the price was higher than expected, so I asked for the receipt. Waiter frowned and felt he had to mention that you usually get that after you pay, to which I replied that actually you get it before you pay, so you can check. Apparently they charged extra for a 'large' juice, whereas I asked for a medium juice. Waiter insisted he asked me small or medium, except they don't have small on the menu only medium or large... which I had to explain. Then he insisted to not charge the juice at all, not in a friendly or compensating way, but actually angry. After I told him I would gladly pay for what I ordered, he kept insisting in an angry and frustrated way that I would not pay for the juice at all. All just weird...
Read moreService is ok. There is plenty of space to sit as well. But the food is awful. I was in a Wagamama once before and thought I should not ever come back. But today it was a convenient spot to meet a friend, I gave the place another try. My verdict still stands. It's cringe-worthy bad. There's nothing in the ramen done right. The noodles were overcooked cheap egg noodles and definitely not ramen noodles. The broth was lukewarm and tasted like it was just made with AH bouillon cubes. All the toppings (including the overcooked shredded rubbery duckbreast) were bland and not appropriate for ramen. Beansprouts were replaced with raw spinach (adapted to Dutch taste I guess, which is ok) but then there was no nori (dried seaweed) or anything else that resembles ramen toppings! Seriously, if you give this bowl of "ramen" to a Japanese person they would not know what it is. The drinks were also not great. I paid 4 euros for a carrot juice that tastes like some sort of chemical soft drink. In short, overpriced and low quality food. If you really want to try good ramen, go to Fou Fow Ramen or Sapporo (cheaper, so much tastier...
Read moreWagamama chain in London is one of our favorite places to go, but this one is something completely different. Went here about 4 or 5 times and every single visit was a flop: first time they served me steak ramen with dirty cilantro leaves, and unchewable steak which they didn’t bother to cut properly (it should be served cut as you eat it with chopsticks). When I asked to change my dish, they were not apologizing, just promised not to put this dish in my bill. Brought me another one and did put it in my bill in the end. Then my ramen was visibly undercooked. I could see a pale center or raw dough after first bite. Once they gave me a cup of their green tea with lipstick on it. No apologies again, just “hm, do you want me to bring you another one?” Then they decided that if I ask for tap water in a jug, it means they can sell me bottled still water (which they brought open. Filled with tap). They regularly don’t have this and that on their menu, turn off their juicer one hour before closure etc — these are just...
