Ikaria Food — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Due it’s long lines I wanted to try this place. I didn’t look at reviews before or know about the concept so I asked for an iced coffee. He said espresso or cappuccino, I asked which one is more popular, and he matter of factly said it doesn’t matter about that, it matters if I like it milky or strong. Then he asked if I wanted sugar and I said no because I assumed it would be sweet already. I mean with no explanation or context about the iced coffee I would’ve ordered the normal “popular” version which was the cappuccino iced coffee. It ended up being overpowering for me. I also had my dog and didn’t know where to park my bike and they unkindly told me to park somewhere else (not telling me the parking was right behind the kiosk). On top of that, apparently a lot of pretentious people go there. Because nobody offered to help me while I struggled moving my bike with my dog. Overall that experience really made the spinach feta pastry taste basic. I think this place is overhyped but I will try the normal iced cappuccino next time. Not gonna wait in a line...

Literally everything we ordered here was amazing! The avocado toast and all the other toasties were exceptionally good. They use high quality olive oil which you immediately feel. I also took Greek mountain tea for drink and it was delicious. The value you get for money is insane, they all were under €6, I think. We had a decent bite for 3 people and that set us back around €30. The staff were also very friendly and delivered a very fast service, despite it being very busy. The only downside is that it is a place outside, so it is less nice when it’s cold. But when the weather is nice, there are a ton of benches to sit in the sun.
