We were really looking forward to trying this new restaurant, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. While I agree with other reviews about the food, the service left much to be desired.
To start, we had a reservation for two at 6:30 PM and arrived on time, only to be told that no table for two was available despite our booking. (Isn’t that the whole point of making a reservation—to secure a table?) Instead, we were offered seats at a counter along the wall. Not a big deal, so we accepted.
However, things quickly went downhill. Our order arrived, but it was the wrong size portion. By then, we had moved to an actual table, which seemed to confuse the staff further. We decided to eat what was served rather than wait for the correct portion, we thoguht "let's not make things difficult". A kind staff member noticed the mistake, fixed it in the system, and reassured us—but this wasn’t communicated to the kitchen. As a result, the original order was brought out long after we’d decided to stick with the first one (that we already had finished by then).
To top it off, when we ordered just two new beers... we were served the wrong ones.
We understand this is a new restaurant and it can take time to iron out the kinks, but the staff seemed very underprepared, which made the entire experience frustrating. While the food was enjoyable, the chaotic service overshadowed everything.
I hope we were just unlucky, but I also hope they improve...
Read moreService was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the fried chicken, kimchi jeon and yubu bulgogi. The fried chicken lacked crispness and yangyeom sauce lacked spice. Chicken was juicy and tender but didn't have any crispness to it. May have been because they don't double fry or they had let the sauce on it for too long before serving. Kimchi jeon could've used a bit more kimchi or kimchi juice in the batter for more flavour. Really missed the garlic and acidic notes of the kimchi. Also should have been more crispy. Especially in the middle it was almost soggy (But the edges did have a really nice crisp).
Fried tofu with Bulgogi was fine but there where quite a bit of though parts to chew. I'm used to a more tender bulgogi. Bingsu was very average , would've been elevated with a bit of condensed milk. The mango pieces were nice tho. All in all, wouldn't recommend the place for the things I tried, and if you go you might want to give other menu items a chance.
Food is okay but for the price you pay I would expect more of it in terms of flavour since there are so many other...
Read moreAtrocious experience. They need to be shut down by the health department. We were served a pork knuckle and after tasting it, there was an incredibly strange and foul taste to it. We had suspected the pork was WEEKS old. After bringing it up to the staff, their chef confirmed it was indeed expired. Absolutely unacceptable and unethical for them to be serving this kind of food knowing it’s spoiled.
We also got their seafood pancake. Tiny ity bits of seafood. Also the pancake dough wasn’t cooked all the way through. It was not even close to how seafood pancake is supposed to be cooked.
I wouldn’t touch this restaurant with a 10 foot pole. They need to be shut down and fined.
*Update (Response to owner): that is incorrect. We immediately brought up this issue to the waitstaff upon the first taste of the dish. How much sooner are you expecting your customers to bring up the issue? Before we try it? If you were truly dedicated to bringing your customers a quality experience, you would not be serving expired...
