La Dilettante Amsterdam - Natural Wine Bar — Restaurant in Amsterdam

This wine bar is located in the Pijp area. It is a small bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The specialty of the bar is wine, but you can also have a beer or soda if you don't feel like drinking wine. Besides drinks they also have a small kitchen where you can order some small snacks.

The look of the bar is a cozy warm atmosphere. Every hour by means of dimming the lights some extra atmosphere is added to the place. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere. This is due to the candles on the table but also the small wooden tables and chairs in the case and all the wine bottles on the wall.

The wines and the food are very good. They are all natural wines from white to red from bubbles to orange wines. The food is all small bites that go well with the wine. It is extra though and definitely not meant to be a full meal. If you take enough different snacks you do have a good base. The food is very tasty. Also for a vegetarian there is enough choice.

The staff is friendly and knows a lot about wine. What I like about the staff is that they have a friendly atmosphere which makes you feel at ease.

The music was certainly present but was a bit soft to understand what it was all about. It did give a nice atmosphere and it was not top 40 music. The music that was played was certainly chosen for the case.

Overall it is a super cozy place with good wines and tasty snacks. Definitely a must for...

Dilettante’s wine list consists of well- thought- out natural and low- intervention wines that change regularly and all pair well with the solid selection of small plates that you can find on the food menu (try the confit de canard!).

You can go minimalist, order a small snack and try something by- the- glass, or have all the plums (grapes, in this case) you want and ask for some of their more exclusive and rare bottles.

The owners are a fun creative bunch that like to keeps things simple and pretensions low, resulting in something of a candle lit neighborhood bar where you can walk in any day...
