La Polpetta — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I'm happy to say I have finally found a real authentic Italian restaurant in our beautiful city of Amsterdam. At (late) lunch time with the sun shining bright, looking through the restaurant window it looks as if the place is dark and uninviting, yet my hunger pushed me to go inside and I'm seriously glad I did. Staping in, the first thing I've noticed is the beautiful trays of Parmigiano and lasagne in the cooling vitrine, and when the guy at the counter spoke with Italian accent, I knew this cannot go wrong. I ordered the lasagne which is served on a clay plate, wormed up in the oven (no microwave in the kitchen 👍) and the first thing I've tasted was the heavenly flavor of real tomatoes which later he told me he buys directly from Italy, I enjoyed it so much, I couldn't stop there, next I ordered the Parmigiano which knocked me out of this world. The flavors of fresh quality ingredients, fresh made pasta, was so good, I couldn't resist and ordered their homemade tiramisu and espresso which got me even closer to heaven. When it comes to recreating his grandmother recepties, this kind and friendly Italian guy knows no compromise and it definitely shows in all three dishes I've had. And last but not least, the place is clean, from the floor to the cutlery and glasses and even behind the counter. Two hours later, I'm still hype and excited from this delicious Italian experience. Next time I'll try the pizza, I already know it...

Ordered a delivery and was very very disappointed. The only good thing was the arrival time, the issue was that even tho everything arrived in less then 30 minutes all the food was completely cold. In addition the 2 pasts dishes + the lasagna were very very greasy and salty. But the cream of the crop was the pizza which arrived all over the place. With literally all of the cheese moshed on the pizza carton. You can see it in the picture. We payed 57 Euros for what? Last but not least is that the Nutella cake we ordered was some how also cold and we had to re hit it in our over... Would highly...

Just had a great pizza 4 formaggi! Delicious! Molto gustoso e simpatico! Ci vediamo presto :) UPDATE: I go there regularly now, always fresh ingredients, really high quality and very tasteful. Real Italian! Well done! UPDATE 2 august 2022: Some ppl complain that clients give one review. Well, I take food from them every (other) week and different orders (pizza, lasagna etc.) and I can assure it is high quality and well prepared, always hot and fresh ingredients. I go pick up myself and I never wait long and the pizza is made while waiting, how much better can it be? Happy to have them in the...
