My friends and I are still shocked on the terrible experience we had in this restaurant. I'm not sure how it is possible that they have a rating of 4.9 and I will tell you why. First of all, the place lacks of good taste in the way it's decorated. In the photos there should be a garden that doesn't exist at all. Second, they don't give you any menu because they claim that everything is "fresh" and that everyday their food offer is different. But not everything is fresh and you can clearly see that from the Meze selection (beans and tuna from a can). That allows them to not be transparent on the prices of the dishes and to adjust them as they want to at the moment you ask for the bill (we were charged 50 euros for a selection of 7 small dishes). Plus, watch out what you order because they will bring you more than what you have actually ordered so that they can overcharge you at the end. I found the attitude of the lady very arrogant and totally unprofessional towards us. That's also clear from her response to this review. My suggestions to the owners: if you want to be taken seriously, start from the basics: Have a menu with transparent prices or a chalkboard. Customers need to know how much they are paying to prevent bad surprises. Another basic advice: more attention and kindness towards the customer. You were very rude with us and made us all feel un-welcomed and angry. Even if the lamb was very tasty, I couldn't fully enjoy my food because of your arrogance and of not being transparent on the pricing. This review is not based on hate for hard working people but it's meant to prevent that the same happens to...
Read moreWe visited this beautiful, cozy little restaurant during Eid — and from the very first moment, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that we immediately felt at home. None of us had been here before, so it was a completely new experience — and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be.
Although we arrived slightly before the official opening time, we were kindly invited to come in and take a seat. The service here is exactly how service should be: genuinely caring, attentive, and incredibly hospitable. Honestly, that alone would be reason enough for us to return.
As for the food — absolutely delicious! Everything is freshly prepared each day, which is why there’s no printed menu. Instead, Irma — who introduced herself so warmly — is the living, breathing menu. She walked us through what was available that evening with so much heart and passion, it made the whole experience even more special.
We started with a variety of tapas, followed by fresh fish (which we got to see beforehand) and a tender lamb shank — both bursting with flavor. For dessert, we were treated to a walnut creation that was simply delicious.
It was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Amsterdam. Thank you, Irma and Ihsan, for such a...
Read moreOne of the best restaurants I've eaten at! Everything was delicious. We had veal, but since they make everything from scratch ("no cans, no jars"), there is no paper menu and the options change daily. It was so flavourful and balanced, I wish I could eat it every week! The vibe was also very friendly and welcoming - it felt like being invited into a grandmother's kitchen. And the prices are fair - we (2 people) ate very well (including dessert but no drinks) for about 60 EUR. My only "complaint" is that the meat-to-bulgur ratio was too generous! We finished the bulgur well before the meat, and actually had enough leftover meat for both of us to have lunch the following day (we just had to cook a bit more bulgur - picture included).
5/5, would recommend to anyone who is visiting or living in Amsterdam. Worth going out of...
