Larry's — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The buns are soft and delicious, but they stick to the paper and are a bit messy to eat. We had everything in the menu except for the sticky tempeh. The fillings tasted ok but personally i thought none had the wow factor. I really wanted to like the kimchi halloumi since kimchi&cheese is a match made in heaven; but i found this bun to be on the saltier side and lacking some fresh element, maybe some lettuce or sprouts could be nice. Sadly my halloumi pieces were so small i could barely taste it, balance was off. The fries were soggy and there was not nearly enough for what you pay. Cucumber salad was tasty. Service was amicable. I will maybe go back one more time to make up my mind...

I tried both the duck and chicken options. The duck meat itself was tasty, but the portion was very small compared to the large amount of lettuce and sauce. For the price, I expected much more substance. The chicken option was simply made with nuggets, which felt like an overly simple and unhealthy choice. The portion was also small, and it didn’t add much value to the meal.

What I really don’t understand is how this place has a 4.9 rating. To me, that’s an extremely high score, and I came here with high expectations. Unfortunately, the food I received didn’t come close to living up to that rating. Overall, I left disappointed and cannot...

YUMMYY!!!! wow. i cannot believe how delicious that meal was. i had been following them on instagram for a while, counting the days until opening, anticipation building to exponential heights. I am happy to share that all my wildest dreams are reality. veggie-based buns, vegan possibilities, a discount deal for two buns…. i am filled with love.

I ordered the sticky tempeh bun. I have never devoured something faster. the bun was so soft yet didn’t fall apart, the tempeh was addictively delicious. the crispy onions on top were like magic, gracing my soul with joy and light. i miss the bun dearly. i will be back to feast...
