With great views of Reestraat, Restaurant Nooch has a bright modern interior with a well stocked bar and comfortable seating. Weather permitting, there is a small outside terrace.
With both a lunch and a dinner menu, the cuisine is Asian Fusion and it is the only restaurant of its kind within the 9 streets area. Here you can delight in mouth watering dishes and bites from China, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. The portions are both generous and filling. Many of the dishes on offer are available in vegetarian versions.
There is a good selection of Sushi and Sashimi, in addition to platters featuring the likes of Dim Sum, Mandarin Peking duck pancakes, sesame chicken wings, oriental mix and finger food which is selected daily by the chef, making this an ideal place to come with a group and to share, taking everyone on a culinary journey of the various kitchens. There are a variety of soups which are a meal in themselves and mains feature favourites such as Pad Thai, Beef Teriyaki, Crispy Peking Duck, King Prawn, Udon and Ramen Noodles, sweet and sour dishes and curries. If you still have the room, there are mouth watering desserts, of which the Yuzo Scroppino, a delectable combination of strawberries, yuzo sorbet ice cream, sparkling wine and vodka, is highly recommended.
The bar offers an assortment of draft and bottled beers, great choice of wines and some amazing cocktails.
Nooch can often be busy, particularly in the evenings so reservations are recommended. They also offer home delivery service through Uber Eats and Thuisbezorgd. Prices are very reasonable and you get a lot...
Read moreIt was our last night in Amsterdam and wanted to eat a nice dinner after visiting the Anne Frank huis. We walked in at 920pm without a reservation asking if there was a table. On the website it’s noted the kitchen closes 1 hour before closing time so I thought there would be no issue. They informed us that a table was available but the kitchen closes in 10 minutes so we would need to order quickly. I said that the website noted it closes at 10pm which is why we chose to come here. The lady told me that they were doing us a favour as the chefs were sick and they couldn’t control that and they asked them not to accept anymore walk-ins. I said they didn’t need to do us a favour and we didn’t have to eat there but by then we had already seated.
The food was rushed and mediocre as a result. Mandarin Peking duck with pancakes was very bland and not crispy at all. The skin was still soft and hard to chew. Sesame wings lacked sesame flavour and bland, although the accompanying garnish of onions and vegetables were ok. The sushi was cold and the tempura in the sushi was in fact breadcrumbs and not tempura batter. It tasted a tad burnt. We struggled to finish the meal. I do not recommend the items we ordered.
The dragon sour cocktail was nice. Ultimately we were sad we chose to eat here. The other two staff members were really...
Read moreWe went here on a last minute reservation after craving some hot thai soup. The atmosphere on arrival was very cozy and classy. The low lighting and dark curtains creating an enclosed private restaurant. The art pieces on the wall was very nice. Simple and abstract. They caught my gaze from time to time throughout the meal. I tasted a nice cocktail and some smooth Senpai tea. The starters we chose were the Dim Sum platter and Mandarin pancakes with a side of Edamame. All were delicious, well flavoured, moist and balanced. Often with peking duck, there is a risk of dry or chewy meat, but there was none to be found here. We then had Pad Thai, Duck noodle soup and Seafood noodle soup. Each had balanced and unique but complementary flavours. Again, well cooked duck breast and a delicious broth. The seafood was light and had huge, tender prawns. The Calamari was overcooked so, chewy, but that was a negligible fault. All of the noodles and vegetables were very well cooked. We tried the ice creams, Dadar Gulung and Lapis Legit and they were amazing. Fresh, light and sweet flavours. Sesame ice cream was smooth, which is a nice change to the crystallised stuff sometimes served by restaurants. Service was very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was bubbly and fun. We well definitely...
