3.5 stars. After getting so much recommendations for this place we finally gave in to our excitement and visited Vegan Sushi Bar. Entering the small restaurant in a busy street in West, we waited to be seated by the staff. Except this didn't happen, they shouted at us from the kitchen to take a seat. We ordered drinks and food using the QR-code after waiting too long to be served. We could see that the takeaway orders were getting a lot of priority.
The first round of food, the tokoyaki balls and the Bao buns, came before we even had our drinks. When the sushi arrived we asked again for our drinks, and they confirmed our suspicion that the order had been forgotten. They were made on the spot.
The food was mouthwatering. We wanted to try several items on the menu and started out with the octopus balls and the bao buns. The Tokoyaki balls were extremely rich in flavour, unlike any other vegan "meat"balls I've ever tried. I could have eaten three portions of it! The Bao buns were nothing unique, but definitely as good as expected.
The sushi blew our mind. By accident we had ordered three rolls instead of two, but we did not regret that at all. Speechless but moaning out of pleasure we enjoyed our Green Miso, Mighty Mushroom and Shrimpless Tempura Crunch rolls. We unanimously thought it was the best sushi we've ever tried in our life. Every bite was a journey of different layers of texture and flavour. The sushi was not only very tasty, but also visually attractive, contributing to a delicate experience for all senses. The dessert we ordered, a matcha tiramisu, was a bit too much. Even though the Matcha taste was far away, the dish was allright. The portion size in combination with the dense consistency made us feel a bit nauseous however.
If you want to get blown away by an extraordinary sushi experience, reserve your spot at Vegan Sushi Bar. The reason for my 3.5 stars is that the place felt like a takaway restaurant with some tables on the side. Delivery drivers were entering and leaving all the time, passing frequently by our table bringing the cold from outside. The sushi is of such artistry that it alone carries the whole restaurant, but hospitality wise they have still a lot to improve. This however is definitely not a reason to not come back. I will and I will recommend it...
Read moreI've chosen this bar to celebrate my birthday and they did NOTHING, no courtoisie, no discount, the woman kept saying that they don't celebrate anything, she even asked an old woman who was preparing the food and they all refused to do something.
The food was extremely delicious but too expensive. For 3 small balls of stuffed fried entry, it was 9 euros. On Instagram they say you can combine different rolls and sushis but you can't. They didn't even wanted to make an exception for my birthday, they were extremely resistant with that birthday celebration. It is very yummy even if I've already eating a way better and cheaper vegan sushi in my são Paulo Brazil so I found it s big costy.
The fried options are full of grass so you feel your finger and thirst mouth how grassy is it.
Ban bao's bread was a big too white and watery and the inside, so good too.
And the MOST IMPORTANT THING, don't you ever decide going somewhere after your diner at vegan sushi bar, because this place smes fried stuff SO BAD! All my clothes, bag, jackets were all smelling and the floor is extremely slidy because I think all this grassy atmosphere.
So my last words are, if you're planing a celebration, do not expect anything cute or a gesture from it. It smells really bad so if you can deliver it, it's better. Fried dishes are too grassy, it's expensive but it's worth it trying so you can make your your own opinion. Nevertheless, it was really...
Read moreI’ve just discovered the most incredible vegan sushi spot, and I’m absolutely blown away! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The creativity behind the menu is remarkable — each dish is a work of art, combining fresh, vibrant ingredients in ways I never imagined possible for sushi.
The sushi rolls are bursting with flavors that perfectly balance savory, sweet, and umami. The chefs have skillfully replaced fish with plant-based alternatives that taste so fresh and authentic, you won’t even miss the seafood. The textures are spot on — crispy, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth all at once!
I must give a special mention to their signature rolls, which are a true explosion of flavors. Whether you’re a sushi lover or simply curious about vegan cuisine, this place will surprise and delight you. And let’s not forget about the presentation — each plate is beautifully crafted, making every bite a feast for the eyes as much as for the palate.
If you’re passionate about great food, sustainability, and plant-based eating, this vegan sushi restaurant is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming...
