⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic Italian Pizza in Amsterdam – A Must-Visit Near the Amstel River!
Lo Stivale d’Oro Pizzeria, tucked just off the Amstel River near the Waterlooplein Metro stop, is one of our favorite pizza spots in Amsterdam. This cozy, welcoming gem is run by Gianluca and his friendly team—you can feel the passion from the moment you step inside.
The pizza? Incredible. Perfectly crisp crust, fresh ingredients straight from Italy, and bold, balanced flavors. We especially loved the Lucifero, Gustosa, Margherita and Italia pizzas on our latest visit—absolutely delicious. The dough is truly special: a unique blend of three flours (classic 0, stone milled, and multi-cereal) gives it an unforgettable texture and taste. Don’t forget to add fresh tomatoes and basil—they really complete the flavor. And the spicy oil? A must-try.
Definitely save room for dessert—especially the Tiramisu with Nutella! The Italian wines (we had the Claudio Quarta Primitivo) and drinks round out the experience beautifully. We haven’t tried the pastas yet, but if they’re anything like the pizza, they’re bound to be fantastic. Even our friends’ kids from Vermont ranked this place second only to their own homemade pizza—which says a lot! Be sure to make this stop part of your Amsterdam tour. It’s close to the iconic Skinny Bridge (Magere Brug), my personal favorite—the Walter Suskindbrug—plus the Dancing Houses and the Opera House. On a warm day, the riverbanks and canals nearby come alive with locals and visitors enjoying the sun.
Tip: It’s a small space with big flavor, so reservations are essential.

The tiramisu, which I had asked for the day before, prepared ones , tasted even better after resting longer just as I believe it should. It was served in a glass cup, which is a big plus for me. The crema had a great structure: fluffy, not overly sweet there is no mascarpone or egg taste or smell well whipped and you could really taste the coffe from the ladyfingers. The coffee didn’t drip to the bottom of the cup, which I appreciated. Very nicely done. Then came the last taste I wanted to stay with me whole night “the Margherita” Even though I really like new electric ovens, fire is always different. This pizza was baked in a gas oven, and the dough kissed the flame perfectly. The pizza looked great from the outside. I scissored a slice to check the crust andit was excellent. The pizza was stretched out very professionally, which showed the pizzaiolos skills. The center was very thin(equally)as it should be, and it was evenly baked with no burnt spots. The zebra pattern was there, and the toppings weren’t overdone. It was very nice.
We chatted a bit while I was there very friendly stuff not the front also the kitchen!. I didn’t see any Uber or Thuisbezorgd couriers maybe they do delivery, but I didn’t see any, which is a plus for me. I believe that definitely affects the quality of the pizza.
Definitely one of the best in town. With their farina and experience They truly brought the smell of Napule...

Constantly, people around us were moving chairs and trying to pass. I had a couple of women jackets on my face and had to hold the glass of wine on my hand, or someone would have eventually made it fall off the table. We ordered one pizza, two glasses of wine, and a bottle of 250ml water, the water cost us 6€. For a pizza that costs 20€ I would have expected better. The flavours were nowhere to be found. To me, it was just a regular pizza in a very uncomfortable space to eat it. Waitresses...
