Meat The Balls — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I like this place so much I could write a book about it, but I will keep it short here. I tried almost every one of their sandwiches and I am ready to confidently say that "Meat the balls" is the perfect spot for a healthy quick bite. They are amazing: high quality ingredients starting from the bun and finishing with fresh toppings, everything cooked with passion and the wonderful juicy (but not fatty!) meat balls together create a new fresh kind of sandwich. Although, I don't like the word "sandwich" in this case because imho they create something much better than a simple "sandwich", since it is something I haven't tried before, and I ate a lot of sandwiches. I'm originally from Greece and live in Amsterdam. I don't like eating out a lot - one of the main reasons is how unhigenic kitchens look like here. Meet the Balls is an exemption for me. It's my go-to place when I have friends coming over and visiting the area of Museumplein/Vondelpark.

I've tried a lot of the items on the menu by now - the ingredients always were well-made/fresh, the fries are always great and the fresh-made smoothies are simple and amazing (I don't even like them normally). The staff/owner is always awesome. Finally, the kitchen is completely open/transparent and always looks tidy and clean - same for the toilet (might seem a secondary thing to look at - for me it's really important). A real hidden gem. Super tasty meatball sandwiches especially the Indonesian with a lovely satay sauce. You know it's a great place when you have difficulty deciding on which option to go for. Owner was also super nice and interested to learn about our trip to Amsterdam for the weekend. If we're ever back in the city, it'll definitely be on our list of places to go back to!
